Download ![What if Paramore / #ParamoreisaBand @paramore had musically encapsulated the anxiety, sense of isolation, and basic dread associated with the lockdown phase of the Pandemic, masked it in a lyrical story of a rocky romance to feed the masses, and then drove it through the streets of our minds on a giant earworm when we least expected it?
Well, it didn't quite happen THAT WAY, but it may as well have because "#Crave" (along with the other tracks from the band's '#ThisIsWhy' album) not only excels as brilliant, amazing music, but as a sonic document that we can now access again, and again. Download ![Music is a bit like alchemy, I think.
Here is a perfect example of this. How can instruments as inextricably linked to a selection at a church service as a tambourine, and an organ (although practically "pounded" upon 🙂), combine to help represent pure indulgence? It's what the song "#DoIt (' #TilYoureSatisfied)" by #BTExpress is all about - and it doesn't shy away from its goal - realizing it with an anthemic level of success. The track is nowhere near being religious of course, or even tame (either lyrically or musically), but just listen to it (maybe more than once) with that level of care .... The song's core propulsion is accomplished by the bass line, and vocals, but a Funk powered sax buddies up with a guitar to make things extra infectious.
I listen to ALL music with this kind of ear - so as to enjoy it in a lasting way. If you mess with 70s Funk with the kind of love I'm hopefully projecting, comment below. I can't be the only one who's "satisfied." 😉. Download ![... ahhhh, dig this one, too🔥 ✊🏾🔥.
Everytime I try to write popular music off totally, they figure things out, and I don't totally bale out on it 🪂.
"#OneRightNow" by #PostMalone (@postmalone ) & #TheWeeknd (@theweeknd )
And I also forgot how much I enjoyed using #Shazam (@shazam ), it's a "real" magic trick you yourself can perform on demand.
Music is everywhere, isn't it? I love that about the marketplace, if not its greed and shortsighted goals, and other failings. We need music more than ever now, as it can unite us, and divert our attention to more pleasant places and things.
There is literally a soundtrack everywhere we go if we put an ear out for it I guess ... though the soundtrack isn't always a good one 🤔🙂🤣🔥

I love this album (every couple of days I play it from start to finish), and of our current music stars, The Weeknd has become my number one favorite.
He makes music on his own terms, and has a deep well of creativity and talent to draw from.
Bravo, @theweeknd 📻👏🏽📻
