I recently had a close encounter with a Grey-headed Flying-fox, and I have to admit... if you took away the wings, you'd swear it was a fox that had stolen a mini paraglider. 🦊🦇

These incredible pollinators can fly up to 80 km every night, spreading pollen and seeds across our landscape and genetically diversifying forests. That's impressive right.

If you come across one on your property:

🦇 High in a tree or flying overhead? Leave it be. It's likely just resting or foraging for a few days.

🦇 On the ground, tangled, or looking exhausted? Or hasn't moved in a few days. That's when it may need help. Contact FAWNA 02 6581 4141 as soon as possible. Our wildlife carers have already faced a demanding year so far and put their hearts into caring for these animals.

Our Grey-headed Flying-foxes are vital to the health of our forests. The best thing we can do is give them space, and call in the experts when they genuinely need assistance. by @s.ploder

We are restoring one of the valley's last low-lying rainforests. This critical site is a vital maternal roost for local flying foxes. 🦇✨

Today's highlight is this solid Red Cedar, a beautiful species native to our area. 🌳
