People post “never forget” and “support the troops” like it costs them something.

My husband came home from that world with a Purple Heart and a brain that doesn’t work the same. TBI. Depression that comes in waves. Hypervigilance that doesn’t clock out. I am the one who lives in it with him the appointments, the nights he can’t sleep, the days the weight sits on the whole house. That is not a hashtag. That is every day.

A lot of the same people who say they “truly care” disappear when it gets unglamorous. No cameras. No anniversary. Just a man who served and a wife trying to keep him here. Talk is cheap. Showing up when he’s not “on” is the part most people skip.

If you actually care about the ones 9/11 and the wars after it broke, check on the veteran in your life when it isn’t September 11th. And if you or someone you love is in a dark place, call or text 988.

To the fans of SEAL Team:
So that’s it Scott “Full Metal” Carter is gone and I cannot say thank you enough for the love and support you have shown for Full Metal over the years. I was truly humbled with all the DM’s and comments I received over the last few episodes. Sorry If I didn’t get to respond to all of you but rest assured I appreciated all of them!

So grateful to Chris Chulack, @imdboreanaz, @spencerhudnut and @markowenseal for keeping me around as Full Metal for four seasons which was totally unexpected.

Thank you so much to the entire cast, writers and crew for all your hard work and respect in bringing our military lives, veteran and current active duty, to life. From the bottom of my heart thank you all for an experience I’ll never forget.
