Berlin marathon 2025🇩🇪… what a day, 80+ degree day in late September wasn’t apart of the plan in-fact nothing that took place on race day was apart of the plan.

Right from the start my legs and heart rate were not there, by mile 5 I knew I wasn’t having a good race and my time goal was pretty much cooked as I watched the 3:15 pacer disappear into the distance but I knew we had a bigger goal today of getting my 2nd star and getting closer to finishing all 6 of the original majors.

I backed off the gas and was cruising easy miles but even that became tough, I was lost and didn’t know what to do so I called Morgan and then my parents and just yapped about everything possible to distract me from the uncomfortable feeling of doubt/wanting to DNF.

They carried me to the half but at that point I knew I had to walk if I wanted to make it to the finish line with the heat today, so I walked and then walked some more sprinkling in some jogging but I couldn’t get the legs to turn over much at that point, at about mile 19 my body started rejecting any gels and liquid I put down today and I was vomiting everywhere, it was awful…

35k I finally saw Morgan and just started crying about how bad the race was but I was still in Germany running a world major and she kept reminding me of that and to just take in the city and try to have fun. She joined me walking for a little to get me going again.

So I tried my best to smile my way to the finish line but my stomach had me stop 2 more times at mile 21 and 24 and then again after I finished the marathon 🤮🥲

Am I happy with a 5:13? Nope, but I am absolutely stoked that I kept going and worked really fucking hard today and I never quit on myself🤠

Anyways, New York City marathon in 2026!
