I promised you that when i lived in Texas again we would go to a shooting range together and catch up and i would help you rebuild your life if you’d let me. You just wanted to “hang out with the cuzz” But i could only fulfill the promise of seeing you again.. i could only bring myself to say Sorry that it took me so long to see you again. I had to protect myself in a way i wish i could’ve protected you. We talked so much about how you really messed up and wanted to get back on your feet and i even told you id support you in every way because i believe you could get better in life. As this year ends, I’m less focused on what happened and more aware of who stayed. Jeremy, you were my steadiness through quiet, demanding seasons that didn’t need explaining. You cared for me, our home, and the lives within it with patience, consistency, and intention, without needing praise or permission. You respected my boundaries when others ignored them, showed up when support elsewhere was conditional, and never disappeared when things got heavy. You didn’t just stand by me, you stood with me. As we step into a new year, I’m deeply grateful for a love that doesn’t make noise, doesn’t ask for anything back, and never leaves. by @s_vrvi
