The cardamom bun at La Cabra is hands down the best one I’ve had 🥐 I don't know why I'm so late to the game bc it's 100000/10. Perfectly balanced, chewy, so flavorful.
• Pain Suisse — 9/10, flaky with the ideal cream-to-chocolate ratio
• Canelé — not my favorite, my friends said it tasted like banana bread
💰 ~$16 for all three
Verdict: go for the cardamom bun alone.

The tomato bagel at Apollo Bagels is such a simple concept yet sooo yummy 🍅 🥯 The bagel itself was crispy outside and soft inside - perfection
• Tomato bagel with scallion cream cheese — 10/10, SO fresh (get the scallion, not the plain — trust me)
• Smoked salmon with cream cheese, capers, red onion & dill — 8.5/10
💰 ~$20 total
Verdict: the tomato bagel is the order

This Japanese spot's corn ice cream sounds weird but it’s the best thing on the menu 🌽🍨
📍 Konban
✨ Vibe & service: 9/10 — cute, warm, genuinely friendly staff
✨ Food: 8/10 — known for katsu, udon, and that corn ice cream
💰 $$ (~$50 per person, we had a group of 6)
What stood out: corn ribs, ebi katsu, mazemen — and the corn ice cream, obviously.
⭐️ Overall: 8/10, worth the reservation.

A bagel STUFFED like a dumpling?? I had to try it 🥯
📍 Moonrise Bagels (@moonrisebagels) - famous for stuffed bagels
Tried the stuffed BEC: fun twist on the classic. The chili sauce was my favorite (they also do homemade and ranch).
⭐️ 7.8/10 overall
⚠️ Pro tip: eat it fresh or reheat it — takeout gets sad fast (learn from my mistake)
💰 ~$15
Worth trying once. Save this for your next bagel run 📌

📍 Bittersweet at Hemlock Neversink
✨ Vibe: 7/10 - cute, rustic, warm
✨ Food: 6/10 - fresh, local, farm to table
✨ Price: $$
✨ Overall: The resort’s only restaurant, so you’ll likely end up here. The breakfast is solid, but most dishes were underwhelming. The staff, however, is easily the highlight - so welcoming and warm.

What we ordered:
• Chicken Milanese - 10/10 (the star; the pepper jam + beurre bland on the crispy chicken was just chefs kiss)
• Endive & Radicchio Salad - 6.5/10 (good salad, but could’ve used more oranges and dressing to balance the bitterness)
• Ricotta Dumpling - 3/10 (we were very excited for this but the dumpling itself was made of ricotta and there was none inside, too doughy and chewy)
• Hot chocolate liquor drink - 9/10 (delicious, light and a great nightcap)
• [not pictured] Cranberry Tom Collins - 8/10 (refreshing and well balanced)
• Cheese snack plate - 5/10 (too much blue cheese for us, and choice of cracker was not the best)
• Carrot soup - 3/10 (very thick consistency and bland flavor)
• Farro salad — 6/10 (fresh but lacked that zing and brightness side)
• Sweet Potato flatbread — 6/10

Verdict:

✨ Overall: Worth the reservation

What I ordered:
• Oyesters — 7/10 (solid but not standout)
• Burrata — 8/10 (great app option)
• Croquettes— 9.5/10 (honestly would eat so many of these)
• Patatas Bravas — 8/10 (great app option)
• Steak Frites — 8/10
• Shrimp Mac & Cheese — 9/10 (SO good but so heavy)
• Rasberry Cheesecake — 7/10
• Flan — 6/10 (very heavy texture - can skip)

Verdict:
Lean across the table, steal a bite kind of place.
