Still thinking about an unforgettable evening at the very first Malala Fund Gala with @malala & @malalafund šŸ’›

Girls’ education has always been close to my heart, and it matters now more than ever!! When a girl can learn, everything in her orbit changes: her health, her future, her family, her *entire* community. Investing in women & girls is one of the most powerful investments we can make in our collective future.

I feel so lucky to have been in a room full of women and allies who are turning that belief into tangible action.

Thank you Malala and the Malala Fund team for your tireless commitment and work in ensuring every girl’s right to learn šŸ“š by @saarachaudry

Leaving Wimbledon with a full heart. šŸ¤šŸŽ¾

I’m so grateful to have been part of The Shift ChaĢ‚teau, the first female forward house at Wimbledon! A space celebrating women who are changing the game across sport, storytelling, leadership, and beyond.

It was incredible to witness icons like Martina Navratilova and Yusra Mardini be honoured as sports shiftmakers. Hearing Martina speak about her journey, her experience with cancer, and women’s health was such a powerful reminder of the importance of resilience and using our voices to advocate for ourselves.

I had the honour of sharing a piece of my own story— my grandmother’s journey from apartheid South Africa to Canada, and the sacrifices she made so her daughters could have opportunities she dreamed of. The women who came before me continue to shape the storyteller I am today. I also performed Sarah Kay’s ā€œIf I Should Have a Daughterā€œ, a beautiful reminder of the hopes we carry for the next generation.

So much gratitude for @theshiftison and all the lovely people I got to meet and spend time with throughout this Wimbledon. šŸ¤ taken in Wimbledon by @saarachaudry

As this year comes to a close, I keep coming back to this night at the JFK Jr. Forum— one of the moments of 2025 I’m most proud of and deeply grateful for.

On International Women’s Day, I had the privilege of spearheading a forum on gender-based violence that brought together filmmakers, advocates, scholars, students, and global leaders for an honest and necessary conversation. What felt most salient was our focus on the role of men and boys as active participants in the fight for gender justice. For me, this wasn’t just about hosting an event— it was about using storytelling as a catalyst for empathy, accountability, and action.

I was honored to co-moderate alongside Atul Gawande (Surgeon, Author, and former USAID Global Health Leader), and deeply thankful to our speakers: Nisha Pahuja (Oscar-nominated Director) for her fearless work on To Kill a Tiger; Dr. Amita N. Vyas (Professor at GWU & Film Producer) for grounding the dialogue in lived experience and global advocacy; and Ziauddin Yousafzai (Malala’s father and co-founder of the Malala Fund), whose lifelong commitment to standing with girls and women continues to model what real allyship looks like.

Conversations like these matter because gender-based violence is not a ā€œwomen’s issueā€ā€” it’s a collective one, and progress depends on sustained, intentional involvement from all of us. I’m grateful to everyone who showed up ready to listen, learn, and engage!

I also want to acknowledge Setti Warren, whose leadership at the Institute of Politics and belief in student-driven ideas made this event possible. Since that time, Setti has passed, and his vision continues to guide the work so many of us carry forward.

Here’s to telling braver stories, building unlikely coalitions, and shining light on issues that demand our attention in 2026 and beyond. The work doesn’t end here… it only deepens.

Endless thanks to Aaron Goldman and the JFK Jr. Forum Committee for helping bring this vision to life. None of this would have been possible without you all. taken in Harvard Kennedy School by @saarachaudry
