Their art is about to be your new obsession. Every year, our curators name the early-career artists poised to shape the next great art collections. The Rising Stars. For the first time, we opened Rising Stars to a global call. Thousands of artists answered, and only 30 made the class. They’re fresh out of art school or entirely self-taught, young in career but sure in vision. Some indulge in whimsy; others pull you somewhere mystical. Follow whichever feeling pulls you in first. Link in bio. #saatchiart #contemporaryart #emergingart by @saatchiart
What an art collector of 22 years would tell herself on day one. When Deanna built her Colorado home 2 decades ago, she installed track lighting before she owned the art to light. She knew the walls would fill. After a career as an airline pilot, her collection grew the way her passport did. Now retired, she says Saatchi Art is the next best thing to searching the world for art. Step inside her home in our latest Living with Art profile. #artcollector #saatchiart #contemporaryart by @saatchiart
Water never stays fixed for long, which might be exactly why artists keep coming back to it. It’s meditation, metaphor, mirror, and muse. More to notice in our new digital exhibition, Currents. Your living room at 5 p.m. looks nothing like it did yesterday. The clocks changed, and with it comes longer nights and brighter mornings. We gathered works that explore the changing light. (Art: Andrejs Ko) #stilllife #minimalism #contemporarypainting by @saatchiart
Happy Halloween. Everything looks a little better by candlelight, including the walls. 🐈‍⬛ (Art: Timothy Adam Matthews) #oiloncanvas #animalart #contemporaryart by @saatchiart
Painter Le Liu reinterprets classical mythology and Old Master traditions through expressive acrylic and oil compositions that foreground the body. By omitting faces, Le subverts traditional portraiture and social hierarchy, confronting cultural taboos around the body. A graduate of the Glasgow School of Art, his works have been exhibited at @pakd.gallery Berlin, Glasgow International, and the @londonartbiennale, earning him shortlists for the British Art Prize and the BADA Art Prize. And now he's been named a Saatchi Art Rising Star. (Art: @leliu) #figurativeart #surrealism #contemporarypainting by @saatchiart
Onyx is an apt color study to enter the spooky weekend. It’s a deep black that looks very good on a wall. See our favorite art in the shade at the link in bio. (Art: @fornstudio) #surrealart #symbolism #figurativeart by @saatchiart
Rooms like yours look like candles, velvet, and antique brass. Add a painting that feels a little enchanted to deepen the whimsigoth mood and romance. Swipe for a few witchy and surreal paintings we think you’ll love. #contemporaryart #surrealism #darkart by @saatchiart
Which is your favorite? Aleksandre Vashakmadze’s oil paintings ripple with texture and light. Lonely figures are dwarfed in stunning, bucolic landscapes that shimmer in the setting sun. Rough brushwork rips through space in Julianne Felton’s work as the wild landscapes of her home announce themselves with force. A haze of swirling color and cloud obscure and render abstract Julianne’s sun and storm drenched scenes. Camille Lewis gives us a glimpse of another world in her paintings lush with life. Flowering, all encompassing green covers each piece. Nude figures lounge happily in this paradise, as Camille proposes an understanding of humanity’s place in nature. Relentlessly busy and technicolor, Dalma Goncz’s landscapes are more imagined dreamscapes than real places. Rendered in pastel, bead, oil, acrylic, and marker, each work represents a new vision of a world altogether separate from our own. Suren Ter-Avakian shows us yet another version of paradise, this time more tropical. Suren masterfully demarcates space with rolling hills that each take on a different pastel hue. Not even so much as a breeze disturbs this perfect Californian dream. #contemporaryart #landscapepainting #maximalism by @saatchiart
The month in art looked like pastoral fields, restless abstracts, and playful portraits. See what we couldn't shake at the link in bio. (Art: Pasquale Natale) #contemporarypainting #oiloncanvas #surrealism by @saatchiart
The modernist approach to sculpture stripped forms down, let materials shine, or made space part of the art. We’re taking a closer look at the artists still working that way. (Art: @cecilkemperink) #minimalism #sculptureart #contemporaryart by @saatchiart
I've always loved how original art can make a home feel so much more personal, so when @saatchiart invited me to put together a collection of some of my favorite pieces as a guest curator, it was an immediate YES! 🎨You can now explore my curated collection on Saatchi Art!
