Democrat Pia Dandiya has won her election to represent Florida’s 22nd Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives! SAATH is proud to have had the honor to highlight and support her campaign since day one. From her classrooms to now Congress, Representative-elect Pia Dandiya’s journey is a powerful testament to what happens when our community steps up to lead and organize. Her voice in Washington will represent the progress, educational focus, and dedication that South Asians across Florida and the nation have rallied behind. 🎨 Graphics by: @adpadgaonkar / @dhruv_kapadia #PiaForCongress #SAATH #FL22 #PiaDandiya #Desi by @saath.us
All across Michigan, I’ve heard from voters of different backgrounds, faiths, and walks of life. And while we may disagree on some issues, we all want the same fundamental things: strong communities, opportunities for our families, and a better future for our children. In just one day, Michigan will hold an election. But the decisions we make that day will shape our state for years to come. So whatever your political beliefs, make your voice heard. Because civic engagement isn’t just about voting. It’s about taking responsibility for the future we share. #vote #michigan by @saath.us
Islamophobia has no place in our politics — regardless of which party it comes from. California congressional candidate Melissa Hernandez’s remarks targeting Rep. Aisha Wahab invoke the same racist, post-9/11 playbook that has long been weaponized against Muslim and South Asian Americans. SAATH stands firmly against the weaponization of racism, Islamophobia, and xenophobia in our politics. Debate her record. Not her religion. We deserve better from our elected leaders. by @saath.us
Let’s bring it home Michigan. #southasiansunite by @saath.us
Garlands, diyas, and Diwali joy. 🪔 Thank you @abdulelsayed, @jocelynbenson, @ranjeevpuri, @heyitsaftab, and @ayeshaghaziedwin for celebrating Diwali with our communities. We agree: Hindu, Sikh, Jain, Muslim, and every faith in between — we light the way together. Tuesday, November 3. Vote. by @saath.us
MICHIGAN WILL BE WON ON THE MARGINS. AND OUR COMMUNITY HAS A VOICE THAT DESERVES TO BE HEARD 🇺🇸 I joined @iaimpact @saath.us @aapivictoryfund and community partners for LIGHT UP THE VOTE, a Diwali-themed rally bringing together South Asian Americans, elected officials, community leaders, entrepreneurs, and creatives. The evening featured U.S. Senate candidate @abdulelsayed Michigan governor candidate @jocelynbenson Cincinnati Mayor @aftabpureval Michigan House Democratic Leader @ranjeevpuri and artist and activist @ariannaafsar . From local Desi vendors showcasing their businesses and cultural products to powerful conversations about representation, leadership, and civic engagement, the South Asian community showed up in a big way! One thing that especially stood out to us was the intentional inclusion of independent content creators through the NEW MEDIA section. Having front-row access, opportunities to connect with elected officials, and a platform to bring these conversations back to our communities meant a lot. Shoutout to the organizers for recognizing that creators, independent media, and small creative businesses are an important part of our community and economy. We need more opportunities like this, where creatives aren’t just called upon when their influence is needed, but are genuinely included, supported, and given a seat at the table. Michigan elections can come down to the margins, and South Asian voters are part of that conversation. Our voices, our participation, and our representation matter. Whether you’re a first-generation immigrant, a second-generation American, or part of the next generation coming up, staying informed and participating in our democracy is important. Representation isn’t just about who’s on the stage. It’s about who’s in the room, who’s being heard, and who’s getting the opportunity to shape the future. Different backgrounds. Different generations. One community. 🪔 In Partnership with AAPI Victory Fund. #MadeInBanglatown #LightUpTheVote #SouthAsianCommunity #MichiganPolitics #creativeeconomy by @saath.us
From supporting local businesses to tackling the high cost of living, economic policies directly affect whether our families can afford good food and thrive. We need leaders and policies that put money back in our pockets and support our communities! A huge thank you to @aapivictoryfund @saath.us @iaimpact for having us out to cover Light Up the Vote! Our community’s representation starts at the ballot box. Every single voice matters, so make sure you go out and vote! 🗳️ #MichiganElection #vote #electionday by @saath.us
I had the opportunity to ask people one important question: Who are you voting for, and why? It was great to hear different perspectives, understand what matters to people, and give our community a chance to hear directly from voters about their choices. From healthcare and affordability to immigrant representation and the future of our communities, every conversation offered a different perspective. I hope sharing these conversations helps others learn, stay informed, and make thoughtful decisions. At the end of the day, everyone’s voice deserves to be heard, and every vote matters. A special thank you to @saath.us us and Indian American @iaimpact (API) Foundation for making this opportunity possible and welcoming us to be part of such an important community gathering. Truly grateful for the experience! 🗳️ Election Day is November 3, 2026. Make your plan, make your voice heard, and don’t forget to vote! #LightUpTheVote #abdulforsenate #MichiganCommunity #CommunityVoices #election2026 by @saath.us
South Asians rallied behind Abdul in a Diwali event with Secretary Jocelyn Benson, Leader Ranjeev Puri and Cincinnati Mayor Aftab Pureval. With 4 days left until the Midterms, every coalition is vital to defeat the AIPAC-candidate that is running with absolutely no message. Diwali (row of lamps) is the multi day Hindu Festival of light that reminds us that light always triumphs over darkness. by @saath.us
