LAOCIE preserves our traditions of ma’moul making this ramadan ✨ by @sabaskitchenoc
Thank you to everyone who joined us yesterday for our ma’moul workshop with @sabaskitchenoc ! We learned about the history of this tradition and the importance of preserving it. Saba walked us through the steps to make asawer ma’moul and the room quickly filled with the delicious holiday scent we all know very well. We resist the attempted erasure of our heritage and tradition, carrying Palestine with us wherever we are - from generation to generation. by @sabaskitchenoc
Join PYM LAOCIE at our 2nd Annual Ma’moul Workshop: Asawer edition!
This Ramadan, join us in learning the history and tradition of Ma’moul followed by a demonstration on how to make Asawer. Asawer is a type of Ma’moul that mimics the shape of a bracelet and has a simpler technique than the usual stamped or hand-decorated Ma’moul cookie.   Through the practice of cooking and baking, we preserve our cultural traditions and pass them down generation after generation. At this workshop you will be able to learn the skills of making Asawer with @SabaskitchenOC. All supplies and materials are included in registration which is required at:  bit.ly/sistersmamoul This is a sister’s only event open to all ages, skill levels, and is not exclusive to Muslim community members. 🗓️Sunday, March 8 ⏰12:00 PM 📍Masjid Al-Hedaya (5109 W 5th St, Santa Ana) by @sabaskitchenoc

Thank you again to @SabaskitchenOC and everyone who joined us in learning the art of ma’moul making. We recognize our responsibility to learn and preserve our traditions from the far reaches of the diaspora, just as our people back home have done for generations. by @sabaskitchenoc
