‘we are all butterflies swirling in the galaxies’

this piece has been exhibited in different spaces and explores what it means to exist at the intersection of multiple worlds. a portrait of movement, cosmic belonging, transformation and the soul’s escape.

the woman floats between celestial bodies and memories. everything pulses with freedom and a longing for wholeness and for a place where nothing needs to be translated. by @sabatadele

i'll be joining a panel discussion following a screening of the black power mixtape 1967–1975 at palladium. we'll be talking about protest, resistance and how cultural production carries movements across time — from 1968 to today.

i'll be joined by petra bauer, napoleon maddox and nafiseh mousavi, with the conversation moderated by nadi tofighian.

organised by linnaeus university centre for concurrences in colonial and postcolonial studies, det kulturella universitetet.

then, on 24 september, i'll be performing spoken word at the opening of 'nature resists' napoleon maddox’s exhibition as part of the linnaeus residency programme 2026.

the exhibition brings together collage, text, photography and glass, weaving stories of slavery, revolt, resistance, resilience and hope with questions of racism, marginalisation and the power of nature.

what unfolds when we view justice as a force of liberation? the movement and energy within 'the manifest' remind us that justice and peace aren’t passive ideals but living, dynamic processes — ones that demand continuous commitment, courage and care.

summer gave me something i didn't know i needed: time with myself. more time than i've ever had to sit still. to listen. to question. to peel back the layers. to meet the parts of myself i had spent years moving around, protecting, avoiding or simply never had the time to reach.

i went deeper into myself than i ever have before not just into the beautiful parts but into the uncomfortable ones too. the contradictions. the grief. the tenderness. the patterns. the things i thought i had already healed from only to discover there were still deeper rooms inside of them.

there is something sacred about finally having nowhere else to look but inward 🦋 by @sabatadele
