Dang… my eye bags… lol! 🫩 Anyways, this soundfont was designed in tribute to my friend Tim, aka @tierfonorbital, the man responsible for custom installing nearly every lightsaber in my collection that didn’t come factory-built.

His work is meticulous. Clean. Precise. Impeccable.

So I wanted to create something that, in its own way, could stand alongside the level of craftsmanship he puts into every saber he touches.

Tierfon Protocol begins with monstrous ignitions. The blade erupts to life with enormous presence before finishing in a vicious burning, crackling surge.

A thick, chunky, heavily energized hum, follows with repeating energy signatures cycling through the blade like waves moving through a powerful reactor.

Its swings are harmonious and deeply resonant, allowing that energy to bloom and sing through every movement.

Mechanical precision.
Resonant power.
Contained instability.

TIERFON PROTOCOL

In honor of the man who makes the sabers worthy of sound.

Side note, as with most of my soundfonts, make sure to set your blade ignition timings between 275-300ms. The ignition sound effects are longer than that but they’re designed to have a sort of “tail” effect that lasts past the blade being fully extended. It will feel a lot more cohesive and natural that way rather than leaving your ignition timing at the default 0ms which will extend the blade very slowly over the course of the entire sound effect.

Introducing Afterglow. A warm, glowing hum wrapped in a current of electricity. Smooth and harmonious at its core, but alive with a buzzy, charged texture that comes forward with every swing and motion effect.

It feels less like a sound coming from your saber and more like energy moving through it. Warm, radiant, and analog.

In this video, I used my @blackmagicnewsofficial Pocket Cinema Camera 4K with a @polarpro Black Mist 4x5 filter in a BaseCamp matte box. Lighting was provided by @smallrig.us lamps and of course my @sabertrio lightsaber 😉 Coloration was done in @davinciresolved using @tonelab.io’s Chroma and @greyscalelabsfx Nano plugins.

This is GRAVEHAMMER. This sound set features a deep, resonant hum with a distinctly mechanical and industrial soul. Every movement feels like it sets something massive into motion. Heavy. Mechanical. Again, here I’m using my @crystalfocusnet CFX lightsaber from @sabertrio in conjunction with a @sennheiser XSW wireless Bluetooth system to transmit the high quality audio directly to the camera. Like always, my soundfonts work for almost all popular soundboard platforms, but they do work BEST with CFX as they’re designed using the CFX system initially. by @saberwavefx

This one is called SHADOWS. It’s a dark, aggressive soundfont inspired by the sinister atmosphere and raw intensity of the Maul: Shadow Lord series on @disneyplus. Heavy ignitions, vicious swings, brutal clashes, and an ominous cinematic soundscape give this font the feeling of something lurking just beyond light’s reach. Based loosely on the lightsaber of @mannyjacinto’s character, Qimir, from @officialacolyte, #SITH is one of the first lightsaber soundfonts I ever produced and I’m proud to call it one of my favorites!

This one is for the seductive. The smoldering. The quietly powerful. For those who traffic in dark side energies. And as I will always say, only those who fall to the dark side, can also fall in love… 💕

My latest soundfont preview might be my least “canon” yet 😂 #Generator’s ignition has this neat pre-on effect that builds up to an explosion of light and color before settling into a blue blade. The font has its own unique blade style and CFX GraFX package as well which will be going on sale alongside Generator whe it comes out.

My Red Knight lightsaber soundfont was originally conceived specifically for crossguard lightsabers. The “double ignition” effect you can hear at the beginning of the video, with the metallic clang, was intended to emphasize the one-two punch of the main blade igniting followed by the quillons. However, I wanted to demonstrate that the soundfont can work perfectly with a single bladed lightsaber as well!

In this demo, you’ll see that the second ignition sound plays right when the blade has fully extended, making it sound like a forceful stop of length.

Then there’s the Shepard Tone. That is the ever rising sound effect that continues throughout the hum, without stopping. It’s a bit of audio trickery that makes your brain think that the sound is always going up in pitch. It’s not, but your ears can’t really tell unless you stop and really listen. The first time I heard this effect used was in Mario 64, at the Infinite Staircase. Good stuff 😁

Brightsaber. I produced this lightsaber soundfont to be the light sided twin of the darksaber, countering its unique sound from Star Wars: Rebels and The Mandalorian. It has that otherworldly, warbling, clinking effect that the darksaber emits, but it’s layered over a deep thrumming lightsaber hum that gives it its foundation. It feels heavy, like the blade of the lightsaber has mass to it. What do you guys think about it?

This is the darker, minor-keyed twin to my recently released lightsaber soundfont, Unicorn. Lost & Found has the same vibey, color-bass inspired theme as Unicorn, but with a more sinister twist. As always with SaberwaveFX soundfonts however, this one is still fun with texturized swings and my signature super-punchy ignitions.
