There are few art things as satisfying as playing with watercolour paints on watercolour paper. Absolutely about being in the moment, thoroughly basking in the process and yes, even enjoying the result.

Extremely meditative. Nothing else on my mind except watching one colour perform and intuitively choosing the next. Try it. Enjoy.

I seem to have too much energy to ever fall asleep anymore.

Friday seems the right day of the week to post tie-dye fun. I tie-dyed for the first time in my life this summer at a friend’s birthday party! It was so much fun, but that’s because she was super organized, so it wasn’t insanely messy. I love the results!

Also, there are a surprising number of tie-dye related songs out there. Who knew?

Doodle Doo is my mixed media painting for this year’s edition of the Cock Show which opens tonight @atomicroosterottawa.

The vernissage is 6 - 9 pm tonight. Come enjoy the food, drinks, live music and good company. Maybe buy some art.

I’ve been dying to create oddball creatures for years and finally got me some air-dry clay to have at it. Guess what? Way harder than it looks! But I’m happy with these little weirdos. Next step is to scheme up some colourful outfits for them. by @sabinemodder

So after all the focus I put into my three collections for the Glebe Art Tour for the first six months of the year and then the tunic in July, August became a time for play. Just making art for fun, often using materials that aren’t part of my usual repertoire.

Here’s a piece I did with soft pastels during a sleepless night. I need to play with these more, as I have some lovely ones. Maybe I’ll do another right now.
