august highlights!

i read:
- city of brass by s.a. chakraborty (reread)(fantastic, brilliant, sublime, so excited to get back into this world- 4.5/5⭐️)
- under the iron sky by a.t. emerald (eh, 2.75/5⭐️ - grimdark review pending)
- holy boy by by lee heejoo (still reading, giving me the heebiejeebies)

i watched:
- weathering with you at the barbican centres outdoor cinema (i will rewatch this in a new location every year and never get bored of it :’))
- kikis delivery service at the bfi imax ❤️

a look into my camera roll over the last two months! including:

- various moon sightings ofc
- i met THE @fonda.lee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- saw Hamilton for the umpteenth time
- finished the last season of Yumi’s Cells, a show that i watched all through my 20s and i’m so sad it’s over but it ended perfectly <3
- i read @veronicaroth’s Seek The Traitors Son and, guys, it was just so bloody good URGH (grimdark review pending)
- also read @carabastone’s Promise Me Sunshine which just made me so very happy

current media things:
- i’m reading @deenahlm’s Our Cut of Salt (phenomenal so far btw)
- just binge-watched Not Suitable For Work (avantika u babe)
- currently watching Perfect Crown (steve noh u r perfect)
- also currently watching Doctor on the Edge (i do love an island drama)
- watched obsession (insane loved that)

my brain is in media overload so here’s what I’ve been reading/watching lately:

books
- I’m reading Weavingshaw by @alwasityhh and oh my GOD I’m having the best time this is just what I needed
- project hail mary (3.5/5⭐️) rocky made me cry everytime he spoke dawg
- the flightless birds of new hope (3/5⭐️) meh

shows/movies
- THE PURSUIT OF JADEEEEEEEEEEEEE sensational fantastic delicious brilliant all of the above
- project hail mary (the movie)(amaze amaze amaze)
- the drama (zendaya u could do no wrong w that face)
- im rewatching hidden love to fill the void that pursuit of jade left

happy blimmin new year!

rounding out jan having read two books (gasp who is she), and they were both thoroughly spectacular reads!

- Mother Mary Comes to Me by Arundhati Roy (5⭐️)
- Wild Reverence by Rebecca Ross (4.25⭐️)

before the end of 2025, i picked up Pachinko by Min Jin Lee, which was brilliant (although I could’ve done without the constant sexualisation of women from the male pov’s, but whatever) and gave it a 4⭐️. i also read *clears throat* The Irresistible Urge to Fall for Your Enemy by Brigitte Knightly, which was an absolute RIOT of a time, I love silly books (4.25⭐️)

this reading year will hopefully consist of me burrowing into my physical tbr (fingers crossed)

i’m sure i’ll have a 2025 wrap up posted at some point, but I simply wouldn’t be me if it wasn’t late. ok bye! by @sabisreading

aug was a busy month; i read Katabasis! (3.75⭐️) and i’m currently reading Shark Heart (this may be a 5 star idk yet we shall see). i watched some exceptionally average tv shows and movies, and will probs continue to do so for the rest of the year

new releases im excited to pick up:
