HEY! Just a little PSA, this month is suicide prevention month. And it's a month I hold close to my heart, because just like myself I'm sure many of you have lost someone you love to this horrible disease we know as depression. On my shirt are just a few major things that happen in this world that contribute to so SO many peoples depression, so many hardships, struggles, fighting, fighting to be heard and seen. I bought this shirt a few years back because I loved the message and it's still as valid today, maybe even more, than it was a couple years ago. So please, remember to smile. Remember to hug your friends and family. Say something nice to a stranger at least once a day, because we really never know what somebody is battling on the inside. And I know personally when I'm having a bad day, that a simple smile or compliment from somebody I don't even know means the world to me. Nobody's struggles are lesser than the other. We all fight our fights and deal with them how we do. But if we could just show a little more love, then maybe that love will be passed around. Social media is another huge factor that contributes to people's depression, a platform that people can hide behind to be someone they aren't, to see false expectations for women and even men across the world, to bring down others who use these platforms to actually express themselves in a way that they believe will get them judged out in the real world, DONT DO THAT, it's pathetic to hide behind a screen and comment hateful words to bring down another for just simply being them. I don't post too much on socials but I do believe we can use it to our advantage, for movements like black lives matter, our transgender peers, women's equality, saving the children, and SO MUCH MORE. USE IT. PLEASE. You may think your voice is not heard but it is, and it could help someone else or even many someone's. We have to stand together. And don't forget #speakup #standup .
