12 Years of Marriage ❤️

And one thing I don’t think we talk about enough is how easy it is to lose each other, even when nothing is actually wrong.

There isn’t always a big argument.
Nobody necessarily falls out of love.

Sometimes life just gets really, really busy.

You become Mum and Dad.
You talk about school, work, money, who’s picking up the kids, what needs fixing in the house and what you’re having for dinner.

You become an amazing little team running a life together…

…but somewhere in all of that, we can forget to be us.

The flirting.
The silliness.
The dates.
The conversations that aren’t about the kids.
The version of you that existed before all the responsibilities arrived.

So here are 5 things I’m learning and still practising:

1. Say the thing before it becomes THE THING.
2. Listen to understand, not to win.
3. Don’t let every conversation become life admin.
4. Protect the fun AND the intimacy.
5. Remember you’re on the same side.

Marriage after 12 years isn’t the fairytale I imagined when we got married.

It’s actually something much more real.

It’s knowing every version of someone, the brilliant ones, the annoying ones, the stressed ones, the exhausted ones and still finding your way back to each other.

And sometimes you need to get on a plane, go to the Maldives and remember…

The fit. The drama. The DETAIL.
Safe to say, I was feeling myself. 😮‍💨✨

When I explained what I wanted, @fabiliciousfashion Puja just got it — and somehow created a gown I loved even more than I imagined.

And can we talk about the service?! 🤌🏽 From start to finish, the whole experience was 👌🏽.

Assignment understood.

Things about me that make absolutely no sense 😂

I want a slow peaceful life… but also want to build an empire.

I complain I’m exhausted… then get approximately 14 new business ideas at 11pm.

I want financial freedom… but also believe holidays are essential for my wellbeing. 😭

I want to be more visible online… then disappear for 3 weeks because I have “nothing to post.”

I love being around people… until suddenly I need everybody to leave me alone. 😂

I want routine and structure… but apparently I also need chaos to function.

And somehow at 40 I’m simultaneously thinking “I’ve got loads of time” and “OMG I NEED TO SORT MY ENTIRE LIFE OUT IMMEDIATELY.”

Please tell me I’m not the only walking contradiction here 😂🫶🏽

Life lately 🫶🏽

Not particularly glamorous. Not particularly put together. 😂

Just lots of work, mum life, teaching, ideas, overthinking, trying to get my life together, overeating and repeatedly deciding that THIS Wednesday is definitely the Wednesday I become an organised woman.

I’ve realised I tend to disappear from here when I don’t have something “interesting” to post. But maybe this chapter isn’t about only showing the highlights.

Maybe it’s about documenting the in-between too.

40, still figuring things out, still dreaming ridiculously big… and trying to enjoy the ordinary days while I’m at it. ❤️

And YES I am that person .. I prefer fresh starts on a Wednesday and not a Monday 😂🙈

My Boo’s 💙💙

How much these kids annoy the hell out for me.. they truly are my therapy.
