running is very much a singular sport - there’s a very big BUT:

the thing about the run community is that they have an unfaltering belief in you within the first 60s of meeting you.

& the more you keep showing up, the more they shower you with these affirmations. eventually these affirmations starts chipping away at that wall of self doubt you never knew went up, let alone was so high; planting little seedlings, seedlings that’s beginning to blossom 🌸

this was my first race and I never would have thought to do any of this on my own. I can’t THANK each and every person I’ve met enough & every run club I’ve had the privilege of running with - you’ve inspired me when I needed it most 💫⚡️

World Mental Health Day miles with @recessrunclubnyc 🩵✨

Honestly, I was going to skip this one when I saw the temp (56°) but I knew my mental health needed this one so I persevered and I’m so glad I did. Definitely felt that mental load ease a bit.

fun fact: @gftcbklyn was one of the first run clubs I visited when I started this running journey. @kingparkergold2001 and his crew were just as welcoming then as they are now.

I’ve appreciated how much inspiration, encouragement and just pure vibes they’ve poured into this community.
