Just happy to be here 🥝
POSTS STORIES REELS
As I sit here, with tears in my eyes, flying back from Scotland, three days on from the race, I finally feel like I can somewhat start to describe how the the past week has felt. The night before the race I went inwards. Inwards to a place I have barely ever felt the strength to be able to reach over the past 7 years. A place where the pain is so immense, I can’t even begin to describe it. The only way I’ve ever been able to, is by the heavy, sinking feeling in my chest that I feel, whenever I let myself go back to that time. It’s the same feeling I felt as I watched him pass, in front of me, the young girl that wanted nothing more than to have her best mate by her side as she entered adulthood. The one that was supposed to continue being there when her car broke down, to go to when she needed financial advice or when uni was stressing the shit out of her, when she needed live feedback court-side at her netball games, when she just needed the biggest bear hug ever to remember that nothing is ever that deep – that every day above ground is a good one. The loss of the future was something she grieved the most. He was the one that was supposed to walk her down the isle, be a grandad to her future kids, play golf with after giving her a million lessons, to pub crawl with when he visited her in her new home in London – or drink all the Speight’s beer she promised to always have fully stocked in a beer fridge in her future house. I wanted to go back to those two weeks between diagnosis and his passing, because to me, knowing that no pain could come close to losing a loved one, was something I felt I needed a fresh reminder of. I knew the race would be hard. I knew it would be painful in all the ways. BUT, I knew it would be nothing in comparison to this pain that I knew all too well. So it may sound weird to a lot of people, but yes this race was physically hard, but mentally I felt so strong. Not once did I think I wouldn’t finish. (Cont. in comments) by @sacha.oreilly

The stage is yours. Just WOW! 🏃🏼‍♀️🏆 Become even more of a savage. The sweet spot. A legends words. by @sacha.oreilly
But will the medal ever come off?! @ratracehq Of course I had to take the medal on a victory tour around Liverpool Street for all my City finance bro fans 🏅📈 AD: FUN FACT – you can now find the @cadence electrolyte range in your local @hollandandbarrett The sachets, found in the electrolyte aisle, are my GO TO mid run. Just test em off and shove them into a bottle and boom, no cramp or stomach issues in sight. Also, if you are like me and get major flavour fatigue, the variety pack will be your best friend. The cans, oft…cracking open a cold one (melonberry 🤤) straight from the fridge, post run, on a hot day, just hits different. The poor guy in the store had to listen to my unnecessarily detailed review of all the flavours. by @sacha.oreilly

TOGETHER we managed to take 2nd female and 17th/537 in the @ratracehq 100 miler last weekend 🥈 My only real goal going into it was to finish. I thought around 24hrs would be sick, but didn’t want to put pressure on myself. BUT lads we managed to secure the bag in 22hrs 56, which ngl I am actually really proud of. This would not have been possible without my amazing crew that made everything go as smooth as it possibly could have. I honestly cannot thank these legends enough for the support they gave me during this event. Each of them subbing in to pace me towards the latter end of the event, insisting they all stay up to see me through the night and to the finish line 😩🥹 Thank you also to all those here and back home who messaged and called during the race. Thank you to those who donated and showed their support in the lead up and now post event. Thank you to my absolute wizard of a coach @bw.performance for getting me, not only to the start line in one piece, but to a place where I physically as strong as I could (cannot recommend this legend enough!!) Thank you, thank you, thank you – I am feeling so beyond grateful for all the support I have received. … 👀 now I cannot wait to race the next 🏁 @ratracehq Castle to Castle: Edinburgh to Glamis 100 miler Enjoy some of these crackers 🥴 by @sacha.oreilly
