In the latest THF Magazine article, Sacha Peers @sachapeers explores the remarkable story of British Surrealism and the movement’s enduring legacy.

Beginning with the legendary International Surrealist Exhibition of 11 June 1936 at London’s New Burlington Galleries, the article revisits the moment Surrealism arrived in Britain with spectacular force. From Salvador Dalí’s infamous diving-suit lecture and Sheila Legge’s appearance as the ‘Phantom of Sex Appeal’ to the artists who transformed British culture through imagination, absurdity and dreamlike invention, it traces a pivotal chapter in modern art history.

Ninety years later, Treasure House Fair celebrates this landmark exhibition with works from Southampton City Art Gallery’s distinguished collection, featuring Roland Penrose, Paul Nash, Eileen Agar, Ithell Colquhoun, Edith Rimmington and Paul Delvaux.

A blustery day in St Ives, yet the garden of Barbara Hepworth remains still—bronze forms framed by trees and mossy stone, as though the studio at the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden has been waiting quietly since she last put down her tools.

In November we had the opportunity to visit the Abrahamic Family House @abrahamicfh in Saadiyat Island Cultural District, Abu Dhabi.

The site is home to three Houses of Worship: a Mosque, Church and Synagogue and was designed to represent the close dialogue between these three Abrahamic religions.

Welcome to the Take Five In Focus Series
