Massive energy and a unique musical signature blending Afrobeat, post-punk and pop, @sacredpaws are bringing the buzz to Rosebank on Saturday 8th August.

Their singular style earned them a Scottish Album of the Year Award for their debut work in 2017 and inspired by new sounds and fresh character, they are hot off the release of their acclaimed new album, Jump Into Life. We're just happy they're heading north and bringing one of the most exhilarating live shows in Scottish music to Wick.

If you haven't made Summer Sessions plans yet, this is your sign from the universe. by @sacredpaws

Wow time has flown… principal photography wrapped two weeks ago on To a God Unknown, the artists feature length film I’ve been developing alongside the exhibition Assembly at @hunterianglasgow

Over the years I’ve had the honour of working with some fantastic bands and musicians and this new film features some brilliant songwriters/bands. So it’s with great excitement that I can share tickets are on sale now for ‘Assembly in Concert’, as we celebrate the closing of ‘Assembly’ at The Hunterian with the brilliant Sacred Paws and Pippa Blundell.

This is a not-for-profit event with all proceeds to be donated to the G20 Youth Project, a primary collaborator in the project. @g20youthproject is a Glasgow-based charity creating safe spaces where young people can grow, heal, and thrive. The project works to prevent harm and build brighter futures through support, skills training, and opportunities. A big thank you to the musicians for supporting this important space!!!!

We had some major setbacks for this community based project with zero public funding, which greatly reduced the scope of the work. I’m really pleased that despite this, we’ve been able to show some love and support for fantastic Glasgow musicians/bands. Sacred Paws and Pippa will be performing in the soundtrack of the film and Assembly in Concert’ is a rare opportunity to experience their music within the unique context of an exhibition that has been evolving in real time.

As part of... FREAKENDER FESTIVAL local heroes Sacred Paws finally play Freakender on Saturday 20th September @ The Old Hairdresser's

When Sacred Paws broke through with their debut record they did so with firm intent and rousing success. The duo of Ray Aggs (Trash Kit, Shopping) and Eilidh Rodgers (Golden Grrrls) took their rootsin the punk world and wound it together with myriad influences, from Afrobeat, through pop and post-punk, to create a glorious and unique hybrid.
‘Strike A Match’ the band’s urgent and infectious first offering, was released on Mogwai’s Rock Action label in 2017 and won the prestigious Scottish Album of the Year Award that same year. That success was quickly capitalised on with another full-length effort, the band’s second LP ‘Run Around The Sun’ which
was released in 2019.
‘Jump Into Life’ the lush and layered new album is proof that such a journey was both necessary and significant. Formed of eleven new songs, it takes the roots of the Sacred Paws project and breathes fresh life into it, blossoming into something both abundant and more colourful than has come before; a gentle skewing of their signature sound that feels wildly thrilling.
Having been so patient for so long, Ray and Eilidh found form in that sudden lightning-bolt of inspiration and brought together the songs that would make up ‘Jump Into Life’ with a wide-eyed, thrilling sense of abandon. Such honesty is reflected in the finished record, the band embracing and attacking their own demons with a gutsy, characterful heft across ‘Jump Into Life’. It’s still every bit as infectious and vital as what’s come before but it funnels those moments of heady release through feelings of heartbreak, healing and renewal.

With their emblematic, signature sense of fervour, Sacred Paws continue to hurtle forward, jumping into life, embracing that forward motion that stops lingering in the shadows of life’s messiness. Full of endearing energy, and buoyed by new sounds, textures, and character,
‘Jump Into Life’ is both a call-back and an evolution; unafraid to reveal its warm and heavy beating heart, even with all the anxiety such a
thing entails.
