CALLING ALL HORNETS! 🐝📢 Join us in celebrating Sac State's Voter Education Week happening NOW!

With the General Election approaching, we want to ensure that our campus community has access to resources that can contribute to increasing informed and engaged participation in civic life. This week, departments and programs from across campus are coming together for Voter Education Week to help hornets learn about voter registration, what issues and offices are on the ballot, and the many ways to become civically engaged.

🌟Thursday, Oct. 8 | Grab some popcorn while learning about what is on the ballot, available voter resources, and how to get election-ready.
🌟Friday, Oct. 9 | Submit your original "I Voted" sticker for an opportunity to leave your mark on Sac State's civic engagement efforts.

We encourage all hornets to find meaningful ways to stay informed, get involved, and contribute to our community. Stingers up! 🐝🌟 by @sacstatehhs

💚💛 We had a wonderful time at the HHS Emeritus luncheon on September 8th.  It was great to see all of our emeritus faculty, and we were delighted to be joined by three former HHS Deans: Dr. Marilyn Hopkins, Dr. Fred Baldini, and Dr. Robin Carter! We also were privileged to hear Faculty and students from across the college present their research on topics including the effects of long covid, the creation of a student-led health clinic for aging people, and addressing age-related illness in older adults who are incarcerated. taken in Harper Alumni Center by @sacstatehhs

The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Sac State is excited to introduce their Minor in Audiology. This new focus is perfect for students who want to help others connect and communicate, and who are passionate about technology, healthcare, and making a difference. Providing education in hearing, balance and access, this minor can lead to meaningful careers in the field of Audiology, as well as a direct pathway to Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) graduate programs, like the one at Sac State. July is Disability Pride Month, an annual celebration of disability identity and the anniversary of the Americans with Disability Act (ADA). This years theme, “The World Works Better With Us”, was selected by the Arc’s National Council of Self-Advocates (NCSA), and is representative of the fact that “when people with disabilities are included, respected, and supported, communities work better for everyone”. Here at Sac State, our Disability Access Center (Lassen Hall 1008) works collaboratively across campus to ensure students with disabilities have equal education access. taken in Sacramento State by @sacstatehhs
