(Agri)culturing a Community
ARCH 401 Advanced Design Studio
Exhibition Photos & Project Renders
In collaboration with Professor Maria Vrdoljak

This project reimagines an industrial site in the Bronx as a regenerative campus where architecture, agriculture, and material production coexist. The project centers around a retrofitted brick factory that houses a food waste recycling and biomaterial production facility. A new community learning center overlaps the factory to create shared spaces for collaboration and public engagement. Throughout the semester, I developed bio-based materials using corn husks, cornstalk leaves, and crushed eggshells, weaving that research directly into the project’s cladding, pavers, and façade systems. Together, these components create a closed-loop framework that connects waste and production to education and community life. by @sadfolio

Farm to Fork: Urban Agricultural Chef Residency
ARCH 302 Comprehensive Design Studio 2
Renders & Detailed Wall Sections
In collaboration with Helen Huang

Farm to Fork is an urban agricultural chef residency located in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. The project follows a fully farm-to-table model of living, requiring residents to grow, harvest, prepare, and cook the food they consume. It reimagines the structure of both traditional chef residencies and farming apprenticeships; programs that typically demand large footprints for kitchens, classrooms, farmland, and communal spaces. This proposal compresses those systems into a dense urban site, adapting them to thrive within the spatial limitations of the neighborhood. In doing so, it addresses issues like limited access to fresh, local produce and creates a platform for aspiring chefs and growers to live, learn, and practice their craft in an environment that supports both individual growth and collective nourishment. Finally, Farm to Fork takes advantage of the low entry barrier to culinary and agricultural professions, inviting everyone from all walks of life to take part in this housing project. by @sadfolio

Al Ard | ARCH 211 | Semester 4 | Representation 3 | Plan, Sections & Exploded Axonometric | Professor Serene Kim

As part of my ARCH 211.11 Representation Studio, I was assigned to create a “nouveau” space or world that pulls inspiration from nature or biomimicry to design a central structure. In Al Ard, I looked at the fractured drought land and refraction of light in water to create the main pergola structure that became the water transportation system that saved the town of Al Ard from eternal drought. This project put to use the tools of representation and pushed me to create graphics that would truly encapsulate this world’s deep cultural history. In addition to the graphics, I also created an animation to better present the world through storytelling. It follows a little boy who stumbles upon an old book on the town of Al Ard, as he begins to read the book he is transported to the world and indulges in its cultural landscape. by @sadfolio

Al Ard | ARCH 211 | Semester 4 | Representation 3 | Material & Form Study Models | Professor Serene Kim

In an effort to better understand the principles of the design pursued in this project, I created study models in different mediums and forms that helped to aid my design process. by @sadfolio
