POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

A couple of beautiful reviews coming in for “2014”. ❤️

RIOT Magazine picked up on the memory, vulnerability and restraint at the centre of the song — that feeling of looking back at an old version of yourself and realising just how much time has changed.

UpToHear explored the atmosphere and vocal performance, drawing a comparison to Jeff Buckley and continuing their incredible support of the music.

It’s always slightly strange releasing something this personal and then watching it find its own meaning with other people.

Thank you for listening, writing about it, sharing it — and finding something of your own in it.

SAER — 2014
Out now.

Really proud to share that “Cornerstone” has been selected as a Folk Finalist in the 2026 John Lennon Songwriting Contest.

A huge thank you to the JLSC @lennonbus for giving us the platform to share our music, and to all of the sponsors supporting the competition and its artists.

As part of the finalist prize package, we’re receiving a Roland mixer, SSL plugins, an Audio-Technica microphone, Pro Tools and Reason — absolutely incredible support for independent music-making.

Huge thanks to @solidstatelogic @audiotechnica @avid.protools @reasonstudios and @rolandglobal, alongside all of the competition sponsors.

To have Cornerstone recognised in a songwriting competition carrying John Lennon’s name genuinely means a lot.

My next special guest is the incredible @saer_music !

SAER is the solo project of Birmingham-based singer-songwriter and producer Simon Davies, blending intimate indie-folk with cinematic textures and emotionally honest songwriting. Writing and recording from his garden studio in Coleshill, SAER’s music draws influence from artists such as Jeff Buckley, Bon Iver and Michael Kiwanuka.

In 2018, Simon received a four-chair turn on The Voice UK, helping launch a growing career that has since included BBC Introducing support, BBC WM Artist of the Month, and BBC Radio 1 airplay for the track Cornerstone. SAER’s music has also featured on national television, including a placement on Love Island.

Whether performing stripped-back acoustic sets or full cinematic arrangements, SAER’s songs centre around connection, memory, family and the quieter moments that often say the most. taken in The High Field Studio - Events Space & Kitchen by @saer_music
