It's Stress Awareness Week! 👀 We wanted to take this opportunity to remind our UK-based small game studios about our subsidised Employee Assistance Programme (and the benefits of signing up).

Our EAP offers a comprehensive range of support and services, including mental and emotional health, financial and life coaching, and more.

One of the most significant benefits of our EAP is that members can access 10 therapy sessions per issue, per year. While many workplace mental health benefits cap the number of sessions you can access per year, life doesn't follow the same rules.

So, whether you're struggling with bereavement, stress at work, anxious thoughts, or something else you need some support through, you can find it through our subsidised EAP - made possible by our generous community.

Find out more about our Employee Assistance Programme on the Safe In Our World website (link in bio).

"This game scratches my destructive itch while providing a type of care I didn't know I needed until I played it...

...The reassurance that beyond ashes and darkness and snow, there is someone, real or not, who cares about you and enjoys burning things at the same time.”

Our charity ambassadors share their favourite festive games to level up your winter wellbeing (link in bio). 🎮 Plus, we get insights from Julia Melvin (Wushu Studios) to help us achieve real downtime during the darker months.

Your first place is your home, your second is your work – but what’s your third space? 🎮 Could it exist within a video game?

We explore how virtual spaces like Minecraft can support social connection and learning with Mashfiq Ahmed, a charity ambassador and science teacher.

Six years ago, Mashfiq started an after-school Minecraft Club to give students a space to unwind and connect. It quickly became a third space where students made lasting relationships, solved problems together, and developed their leadership skills.

Mashfiq also uses @Minecraft Education to help his students develop their social-emotional skills, compete in esports, and learn about the environment and sustainability.

In a world so quick to judge video games for their potential to harm, stories like this remind us about the good they can also do. 🤩

We'd also like to thank @KineticHosting for providing us with our charity's very own Minecraft server. ⛏️ With over 200 volunteers spanning 15 countries, this gift helps us close the distance and connect volunteers in a way most befitting a video game mental health charity!

ℹ️ Consider applying to become a Safe In Our World ambassador and help us prioritise mental health in games. Deadline: Sun 25 Oct 2026.

A birthday cake. 🎂
A romantic dinner. 🍝
A warm loaf of bread on a cold, rainy day. 🥖

Food is a universal language that helps us celebrate together or find comfort in the hardest times. 💚 Food can evoke powerful memories, help to heal deep hurts, and even tell someone how much you care without saying a word.

We spoke with Charlotte (Sunny Lab) about their newly released 2D narrative Adventure RPG, The Witch's Bakery. 🥐✨ In this game, you step into the shoes of Lunne, a magical baker fresh to the streets of Paris, ready to heal the emotional aches of her Parisian patrons.

Read how the studio behind The Witch's Bakery explored mental health and wellbeing through food and authentic storytelling. 💭
