Today, we were honored to host Mr. Duwa Almasi Nurdin, the President of TAMSA Tanzania, Mr. Eliah Makamba, the Vice President for Internal Affairs, along with Ms. Majidah Mustafa and Ms. Sarita Samir Mwalongo at the TAMIDA Tanzania office.

The meeting focused on signing the memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen collaboration between TAMIDA Tanzania and TAMSA Tanzania to advance youth-led efforts in adolescent sexual and reproductive health (SRH), mental health, and nutrition through advocacy, capacity building, and community outreach.

As TAMIDA continues to grow, we are proud to share that our impact has now expanded to six regions across Tanzania Mainland: Dar es Salaam, Dodoma, Morogoro, Mwanza, Kilimanjaro, and Kigoma; marking a significant milestone in our mission to reach and empower more young people across the country.

Grateful to have been part of the 12th Tanzania Health Summit 2025!

Held at JNICC, Dar es Salaam from 1–3 October 2025, the summit centered around the theme: “Harnessing Data Utilization and Technologies to Accelerate Universal Health Coverage.”

I had the honor of serving as one of the Steering Committee members, working behind the scenes under the Marketing, Advocacy, and Communications Committee as a Graphics Specialist, ensuring the summit’s visibility, branding, and publicity came to life beautifully.

A big thank you to Ms. Valentina Simon, @valentina_thomas30 our hardworking lead and Corporate Relations & Marketing Manager at THS. Tbh! it was inspiring working under her guidance.

I also extend heartfelt thanks to Dr. Chillo, @dr_ochillo President of THS, for continuously appreciating my work since day one, and Mr. Anodi Kaihula, @anodikaihula our Conference Manager, for that one call “Jumatatu tunakuhitaji ofisini kijana” that truly marked the beginning of this incredible journey with THS.

Grateful to everyone who believed in me, collaborated with me in any way.

Working with such an amazing team reminded me that behind every great event, there’s a group of passionate individuals making things happen💪🏽

I am currently on the ground in Bagamoyo District, Pwani Region, as the Prime Public Relations Officer and serving as a part of the organizing team for our ongoing one-week adolescent health outreach.

Together with the incredible TAMIDA team, we are reaching young people aged 15–29 across four secondary schools. I represent BLOOM PACT TEAM that's responsible for Dunda Secondary School, which hosts over 1,552 students, while my colleagues continue similar impactful sessions at Kingani Secondary School, Nia Njema Secondary School, and Hasanali Damji Memorial Trust Secondary School.

My role involves planning, coordinating, and engaging directly with other TAMIDA EBs, Chapter leaders and members from different medical institutions in Tanzania, as we deliver vital education on puberty, STIs/STDs and HIV, menstrual hygiene management, early pregnancy prevention, and self-awareness.

TAMSA POST GA 2024: At Saanane Island National Park, “The Majestic Isle” @saananeisland_nationalpark

Overview of Saanane Island National Park: Saanane Island National Park is a unique ecological area located within the city (Rock City, Mwanza) limits and serves as the second national park in Lake Victoria, following Rubondo Island National Park. This park is notable for its diverse wildlife, including various mammals, reptiles, aquatic life, and a rich avian population.

Wildlife in Saanane Island National Park: The park is home to several mammal species such as Impala, Velvet Monkeys, Rock Hyrax, and Wild Cats. A particularly significant feature of this park is the presence of De-brazza’s Monkey, making it the only national park in Tanzania that hosts this species.

History of Saanane Island National Park: The island derives its name from Mzee Saanane Chawandi, who was its original owner. Initially a fisherman turned farmer, Mzee Chawandi relocated to another island after receiving compensation for his land to facilitate conservation efforts during the early 1960s.

On May 29, 2024, our team successfully fulfilled its promise by bringing smiles to the faces of students at Mkuranga Primary School and Ujenzi Secondary School (both located in Pwani). We were able to reach approximately 348+ female students.📊
-
Slide 1: We successfully provided comprehensive education on menstrual health and hygiene to young students.
-
Slide 2: This picture shows that not only did we impart new knowledge about menstrual health and hygiene, but it also demonstrates their understanding of managing this natural biological process (menstruation).
-
Slide 3: We were also able to educate male students to become better ambassadors in their communities.
-
Slide 4: We took the opportunity to commend the leadership of each school for partnering with us from the beginning to the end of our event.
-
Slide 5: Btw! Our happy faces clearly show that we were ready to fulfill the goals and objectives of the campaign.😊
-
Slide 6: We thank the leadership of the university (Muhimbili) for supporting us in this event. We used the university's transportation to reach Mkuranga and returned to the university with great joy. What else can we say? 😁
