Some Smokey back alley bar music: Tom Waits into the creative hour by candle light.

While in Uzbekistan I had an embroidery lesson with a wonderful young lady by the name of Aziza. I took it up and am quite enjoying it. Her family own and run a beautiful textiles shop in the historic Silk Road Town of Bukhara.

They make tapestries called ‘Suzani’ that can fetch a fortune, as they are hand embroidered and can take months to make one piece. Often made for special occasions and now revered in the west for their ethnic designs. The ancient Uzbek art now gracing the walls and homes of kitsch designers.

Today, I use these techniques, modifying the design for my own culture. Now, time to go to sleep with the raspy tones of Tom Waits echoing in my dreams #bukhara #suzani #embroidery #uzbekistan #needleandthread

A statement from Sinéad, Charis, Hazel & Saffire.

After many years as members of @thegospelofficial we wanted to let you know that the four of us have now left the band and will no longer be performing as part of The Gospel.

We have shared so much during our time in this band alongside Jimmy and Danni, and have all played a part in building The Gospel into what it is today. There have been some incredible experiences along the way, from the shows we’ve played and places we’ve travelled, to the people we’ve met and the memories we’ve made together.

Most importantly, we want to thank everyone who has supported us, come to see us play, spoken to us after shows and simply followed the journey.

As The Gospel will be continuing with a new line-up, we felt it was important to be transparent about our departure and make sure there is clarity for everyone who has followed and supported the band over the years.

We wish Jimmy and Danni the best for the future for the Gospel.

For the four of us, it’s simply time for new chapters.

Thank you for being part of this journey with us. 🖤

Omg… blast from the past. Back when I looked cool 🤨 if you’re not monging out to your own tracks then what are you even doing?

We were recording Mesmerise at the time with Courtesans. Man, we were sick. Girl, now I’m wearing eye masks to bed and making sure I get 8 hours sleep. Still doing college, got my own business and more developments to come, but nothing was as good as being on stage with these baddies 🔥🚨🔥🚨

Cherry heaven 🍒 1st year harvest. The great unveiling was revered by all the beasts of the garden today. As soon as I started removing the mesh, a chorus of tweets sounded out. They were poised, observing from the tree.
The birds had a field day - as a plague of bugs had decimated my rocket crops. Bug and cherry feast, including spa.
I will make cherry pasties this week with liqueur ready 9th of Aug 🍒❤️🍒❤️🍒

So just come back from a mammoth Uzbek/Georgia trip and I gotta say it was a massive eye opener. If anyone is thinking about going to these places and want some ideas, just hit me up. And I got a teeny tiny tan!
