Project Bloomshade Pt2: Grip Team
Diffusing light was challenging with the sun being so intense and the weird shadows. I managed to find a dead tree for the art team, which resulted in some amusing reactions when everyone saw it for the first time. We also created a buffer for a stunt, which turned out to be a valuable learning experience. by @sage_stamper

Project Bloomshade: The Grip's Journey Pt 1
Night Shoots are always chaos 🤣, but this was definitely one of the better ones. It was an adventure carrying a bunch of film gear through the woods. Generators, flashlights, and some gloves are a grip's best friend. (I forgot everyone's instas) by @sage_stamper

Extra Sage reporting for duty! 🫡 Sometimes, grips are pulled in as extras on set, and I always have so much fun doing it. Unfortunately, I am terrible at acting for the camera.😅 by @sage_stamper

This was an interesting experience because it was one of the few times I worked on a set with a child actor. The story became more immersive as we sought to capture the best shots, aiming for natural performances to help the scene unfold. by @sage_stamper

This is kinda a setup highlight. We were attempting to create sunset lighting while blocking out the midday to dusk lighting. It was a bit of a challenge because we had to block the windows but position the light to give us some dimension. It looks like a pile of cloth, which essentially it is BUT it is very strategically placed. by @sage_stamper

I didn't get very many pictures of this set, but here are a few items you will find around the set. Tall lights, tennis balls, and relocated fire alarms. (Yes, we always put them back) The lovely boxes at the end are 'apple boxes'; these are GUARANTEED to be on every set worth their salt. ALSO a grip's best friend on set. by @sage_stamper

I think this was day two for this project? I honestly don't remember. I learned a lot about the Vortex (square light) and tube lighting on this day. There are some pretty hefty lights, for sure 😁 by @sage_stamper

This was a very difficult set for me because I was extremely burnt out at this point. We were near the end of the semester, and finals were STRESSING me out. It was very cold, but it also taught me a lot about tolerance, and I did meet some pretty cool people too. Unfortunately, my first impressions were total trash. 😅 by @sage_stamper

This was a fun set with so many challenges, but it ended up being absolutely stunning. I learned alot about color on this one. Pro Tip: Make a map of where you leave the MCs (small lights) so everyone knows where to find them. 🤣 by @sage_stamper

No one told me that my job as a grip would be to fight the elements. 🫡 Oh, and the sun- but just wait for those pictures🤣 This is exactly why I always carry so much stuff to set. It helps to be prepared! by @sage_stamper
