So I documented my process a little with this field painting.

It's now complete and waiting to be properly photographed.

It'll be released in a newsletter sometime this week with five other field pieces. The theme is dawn.

As yet untitled. If you have a suggestion, please send it my way. 16x16 inches, acrylic on canvas.

Stay tuned.

Happy Sunday!

A selection of my Affordable Art Series of Textured Landscapes.

These are all small works painted with palette knife and brush to get some really interesting textures and effects in paint.

Landscapes inspired by Nova Scotia coastline, forests, and fields, whatever sparks an interest in me at the time.

And this is my favourite wall colour at the moment, blue/green like the sea as the light shines through it to set the work up nicely.

Priced a little lower than my regular work because they take less time to create. So I'm passing the savings on to my collectors.

From left to right:
10x12 Light over the Field
11x14 A Break in the Clouds
10x12 Light Over the Marsh
10x12 Evening Blues
12x12 Country Air
12x10 Looking Up
10x12 Cloud Gazing
11x14 Wild Roses
10x12 Light Through the Clouds

All measurements are in inches.

Please have a look through the photos to see the works up close.

You can find these little gems in my €tsy $hop.

Have an awesome Friday!

We had a lovely Thanksgiving. The leaves were colourful, the wind was brisk, it rained, it shined. I got out into the fresh air as much as I could enjoying the season. I took two days off to cook and read my book. Such bliss.

Something else I'm grateful for - starting yet another commission.

This has been the year of commissions for me. This is number six!

Because of it's size, 30x60 inches, we're going unstretched. So this is the canvas stretched onto my Masonite board. It's going to be a rustic scene with trees and rocks, water and mountains. So excited.

Have an awesome Tuesday!

Happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian friends, art lovers, and collectors!

Just thought I'd share a little fall splendour with you today. These are scenes from my neck of the woods in northern Nova Scotia.

This year I'm grateful to live on this property. We've been here just over 10 years now. It was by design that we moved here from B.C. to spend more time together. Instead of working outside the home in jobs we didn't like, we devised a plan where I could spend my days painting and my husband could spend his days doing absolutely everything else to keep us going. He takes care of the home, the vehicle, the property. He does all the cooking and cleaning. All I do is make my breakfast.

But this is the time needed to run a business such as mine. It needs absolute focus and attention. I wear so many hats, from painting and taking photos, to editing the work, making listings, writing newsletters, answering emails, posting on social media, packing and shipping the work. Some days I don't even get to the easel. I've been asked many times how I'm able to be so prolific. Well, this is how.

And the plan is working. We see each other throughout the day, take all our meals together, and settle in for the evening together at the end of the day. This year we've developed a nice habit of coming together in the afternoon for tea. We spend about 45 minutes catching up on the day and then go our separate ways again.

So yeah, very thankful. We met late in life, so time has always felt short. This was our solution. Because when you finally meet your soul mate, you'll move heaven and earth to be with them.

Love and light. xox

Here are the two little water pieces together. This size is so cute!

I'm going to call this series the "Rolling Waves" collection. What do you think?

This weekend is Canadian Thanksgiving weekend. Yup, that came up fast! So I'll be taking an extra day off. Yippee!

We may even start watching our favourite fall movies The Lord of the Rings Trilogy. I've been making my way through the books this year (for the second time) and am almost finished Return of the King.

I wait all year to see these movies. I like to watch them in the fall when the leaves have turned and it's cold enough to light a fire in the woodstove. Fall seems the right time of year because Frodo set off on his journey in the fall.

Any Lord of the Rings fans out there?

It's been on my mind to paint my own version of the trees in Imladris. A beautiful birch forest in Rivendell. One day.

Happy Friday!

Something old, something new!

A little side project. My Wavy Lines series reinvented. Sometimes being away from a style for a while is the best medicine. I haven't painted Wavy Lines in a few years. Coming back to it, I've reimagined it with looser, more expressive lines, brushstrokes, and texture.

This is one of two small 10x10 inch pieces I've completed so far. I work on these when there's nothing else pressing that I have to do and want to play with paint.

More coming soon. Stay tuned. Release day to be announced.

Have an awesome Thursday!

Just thought I'd try this little gal out on the wall. It's one thing to have it hanging around the studio, but something quite magical when added to the flow of a room.

Love and light.

I got the approval yesterday...

A challenge was given to me by a collector to create a panoramic "lupins by the sea" painting from a small square lupin painting I did last month. This is my interpretation. The original was 20x20 inches. This measures 18x48 inches.

Yesterday I sent photos of the completed piece to them and they love it!

So now I can show you what I've been up to for the past few weeks.

I'll show you the small square painting tomorrow, just so you can see what I had to work with.

Thank you Fran and Bob!

Happy Friday everyone!

Sold this week from my €tsy shop. Two Canadians and one American collector.

Canadian collectors have been an elusive bunch for the past few years, but more seem to be finding me now.

So grateful to my collectors!

If you're an American wanting to buy Canadian art there are a few options:

I've added a 25% tariff to the price of the paintings in my Etsy shop (I will pay the other 25%) so you can get your painting now. Or you can purchase what you want and I'll hold it until the tariffs have ended.

A third option is to purchase a print from my Fine Art America shop. I don't make much on sales through them, but every little bit helps to keep me in paint.

Any questions please get in touch. I realize this is a tricky time to buy Canadian art.

For all other countries, the art prices have not changed for you. On €tsy I have the ability to charge different prices depending on the country.

Have an awesome Thursday!

The first and last painting to be completed in my Patchwork Fields collection.

Painting this collection was such a learning curve for me. Working with a new way of applying paint to get a more textured affect brought a lot of challenges to the way I normally approach a painting. As a result, I figured out a lot of things along the way and went back and repainted certain sections of several pieces. This was one of them.

Have an awesome Tuesday!

One of my favourite wall colours. I'm gearing up to paint my living area, something soft and grey and calm. For now it's just a project I like to dream about and plan out. When you work 13 hour days , 6 days a week, it's hard to find the time.

One day. Maybe when I retire, which isn't too far off now. Or when I sell enough art that I can take a few weeks off. A girl can dream.

This piece is from my latest collection: Patchwork Fields, 16x20 inches, acrylic on canvas. Av@ilable in my €tsy Sh0p.

I've also made my latest newsletter public if you want to read it. This one's particularly close to my heart. On my w€bs!te under 'Newsletters'.

Update: This painting has now sold. But there are four others still to choose from.

Happy Friday!
