I just finished watching the first season of Marvel’s What If…?, and it got me thinking about HipHop alternative timelines.

So here’s my spin on this:

What if @ins_tagrams was the first Wu-Tang member to really kick off the solo era with the kind of production and attention Nas got on Illmatic?

Because when you really think about Deck as a lyricist… the REBEL I.N.S was different. C.R.E.A.M., Triumph, Protect Ya Neck, The Jump Off, etc. The man had bars.

And I honestly believe if Deck had gotten that kind of focused production and an album built specifically around what he was capable of as an MC, he could have dropped a classic before Illmatic.

And that’s the part that really makes this What If interesting to me. Deck had the talent to be that guy, but he was buried in the Wu-Tang machine. RZA had beats going in so many different directions, and Deck’s project kept getting pushed back. What if that didn’t happen? What if Deck was the first one to get that full treatment and really establish himself as a solo artist?

I think that could have completely changed the conversation around New York HipHop in the early ‘90s. Maybe Deck becomes the guy who sets the tone, and Illmatic arrives in a HipHop landscape that’s already been changed by him.

That’s my alternate timeline.

Had the privilege of going to a Temezcal Ceremony in the Yucatan.

For those who don’t know, a temazcal is an ancient Mesoamerican sweat lodge ceremony originating from Aztec and Mayan traditions, designed to purify the body and mind.

Often called a “house of heat,” this, volcanic stone or clay dome represents the womb of Mother Earth. It combines intense steam with traditional, therapeutic, and spiritual rituals led by a curandera or temazcalero.

Here we have one of the temazcaleros playing the drum in prayer as the volcanic rock awakens from the estactic dance of the fire.

There are pockets around the world where you can tap in to your spiritual technology. You just have to travel.

I’m excited to announce my first men’s immersion in Mérida, Yucatán this July.

Minute Zero is a three day experience designed to help brothers reconnect, realign, and reignite their purpose and spirit. Too often, we get caught in the cycle of living to work instead of working to live, moving through pressure, responsibility, and survival without enough space to hear ourselves clearly.

The medicine of the land helped heal me, and I would love to share the spiritual technology that supported that reset.

This immersion will include:

1. Temazcal and somatic release
2. Integration work
3. Group building sessions around purpose, next steps, and realignment

Only seven spots are available for this first immersion. I did that intentionally.

You are not Lazy.

Capitalism sees our body as currency. Trading our time, our dreams, or body, or thoughts for money to cover our basic needs. These needs that each and every human needs to survive. The bare minimum, crumbs, our birth rite!!

You are not mean. To create boundaries that honor your capacity. To speak up and say that something harms you or isnt sustainable for you.

Over extending leads to burn out. Which is inevitable in a society that doesnt consider you. We are expected to do it all with little to no support. And those who hack the system do so at the expense of others…

As care workers this hits even deeper. The ways we are expected to show up, to pour in, to give, to put ourselves to the side. It’s time for a MAJOR reset button.

Peace yall,

Last week, Dr. Arnold Korbieh @el_cubano__ and I were able to host the initial kick off of the mens circle with the Blackstar Workshop in Madina, Accra.

We had Ghanaian brothers and brothers from across the diaspora building with one another, creating space to talk honestly about mental health, personal growth, and the plans we are committed to achieving.

The energy in the room was grounded, open, and intentional. Seeing brothers show up with presence, accountability, and respect for the circle has been the biggest highlight of my trip.

Special shoutout to @suya.republik for hosting us and holding the space so well.

Soooo many beautiful things are coming up for 2026!!!

I want to connect with yall in person more and that’s exactly how we’re kicking the year off!

@thesagechannel (my husband) and I are both space holders by nature, by calling, and by profession. Together we share over 25 years of holding space, facilitating, and mentoring.

We know just a little bit about what it means to put yourself to the side to show up and serve….

Our life paths intersect in many ways and this is one!! We’re passionate about not falling apart, crashing out, or burning out!
