My rendition of “Heat Above” by Greta Van Fleet for the first undergraduate lighting showcase that happened this past weekend! A group of us students collaborated on a light plot that was then rendered in Augmented for us to previsualize and cue. We then loaded in/focused/teched the showcase with our projects in a matter of 5 days and presented it to friends and family. It was a very rewarding experienced that allowed me to not only grow as an artist but share it with people outside the walls of our lighting department. I did a Concert style lighting for “Heat Above” by Greta Van Fleet, intended to create an experience that reflects the feelings of human utopia as the song expresses while giving it an energy that invokes peace, unity and exhilaration like the band sets out to do in their concerts.

So this happened… probably one of the highlights of my career so far! A project that I spent so much time on and put so much passion into, being featured among industry professionals I look up to, it’s crazy and just such a privilege! by @sagessound

Two weeks ago, I worked as the audio technician for a high school production of Carrie the musical. My role was to load in/out all the rented equipment from the shop, integrate it with the schools system and their dlive console, build the show file, get the console to talk with qlab for the designer, set up actor mics, set up the pit with mics and/or DI’s, set up pit IEM’s and their mixes, and bring it all together! During the show, a student primarily mixed the actor mics from the console, while I mixed the pit from an ipad in the audience. Aside from the coffee spill on the mainstage laptop 30 mins before doors, the biggest challenge was definitely figuring out how to get Carrie’s mic to survive the 2.5 gallon blood drop so that she could sing the biggest song in the show! You can see the sticky mess I was left with every night lol!I had fun troubleshooting that all week and was finally successful for our performances. It was great to work on a musical again and work with the amazing students and faculty at the Hill School! by @sagessound

Spent last week in Orlando at the National Bible Bee Competition as the A2. This was a fun production to load in with a great crew to work alongside. We don’t have to talk about the atrocious cable management coming out of that stage box, except that it wasn’t me. Or the Axient receivers that are gaffed together because a certain rental company didn’t give us racks. But we can talk about the mansion of an A2 world I had!
