Brand identity and design system for @sahabprojects — Sahab — cloud in Arabic — is an artistic initiative for contemporary Palestinian creation. Developed by the Hawaf collective and led by @mohamedbourouissa , it operates not as a fixed institution but as a distributed platform, spanning creative production, research, workshops and grants. We partnered with them to build an adaptable, scalable identity that could hold that range without resolving into a single, static place. We built the system from one rule: a generative grid of overlapping circles — drawing the letterforms, the patterns, and the morphing motifs, so every element resolves back to the same construction. The wordmark sits on this grid and dissolves at its base into a soft shadow — a mark that reads as a cloud before it reads as a logo. The type system treats Arabic and Latin as equals: one voice across two scripts, designed together rather than translated. A single high-voltage green anchors the palette against neutral greys and white, while a categorisation system organises the platform’s parts — projects, workshops, labs, events, exhibitions — into one flexible structure. The result is a kit built to evolve and adapt: consistent enough to hold across every context, light enough to travel, strong enough to carry cultural memory beyond borders. by @sahabprojects

Les 5 et 6 juin derniers, la Gaîté Lyrique accueillait le Festival Sahab organisé avec le collectif Hawaf dans le cadre de la Saison Méditerranée 2026. Pendant deux jours, le festival a mis à l’honneur la scène artistique contemporaine palestinienne, en réunissant artistes, chercheur·euses et publics autour d’un même élan : soutenir, préserver et transmettre la mémoire culturelle palestinienne. Au cœur du projet, une ambition commune : soutenir la vie artistique et l’imagination collective malgré les conditions actuelles de fragmentation et de déplacement. Un immense merci à toutes celles et ceux qui ont contribué à faire de ces deux journées un moment intense, porté par des échanges précieux et une énergie collective vibrante. Cette première édition a constitué un espace de rencontre et de dialogue autour des voix, des récits et des mémoires de la création palestinienne. Demain en clôture du Sahab Festival @gaitelyrique ⚡️ Deux jours pour la scène artistique palestinienne contemporaine La soirée se poursuivra avec une performance participative autour de la dabke palestinienne avant de se conclure par avec un live set de Rayess Bek / Tarab Machine. → À 19h : à travers un atelier et une performance collective, Mohanad Smama invite le public à découvrir la dabke, danse traditionnelle palestinienne qu’il réinterprète avec Hamza Damra et Mohand Qader. Accompagnés par la DJ Vanda Forte, ils proposent un moment fondé sur le rythme, le mouvement et l’énergie du groupe. → À 21h30 : le festival s’achèvera par un live set de Rayess Bek / Tarab Machine. Figure majeure des musiques urbaines au Liban, l’artiste développe un univers où se rencontrent patrimoine musical arabe et cultures électroniques contemporaines. ∿ Tomorrow closing the Sahab Festival @gaitelyrique ⚡️ Two days dedicated to the contemporary Palestinian arts scene The evening will continue with a participatory performance centered on Palestinian dabke before concluding with a live set by Rayess Bek / Tarab Machine. → At 7pm: through a workshop and collective performance, Mohanad Smama invites audiences to discover dabke, the traditional Palestinian dance that he reinterprets alongside Hamza Damra and Mohand Qader. Accompanied by DJ Vanda Forte, they create an experience driven by rhythm, movement, and collective energy. → At 9:30pm: the festival will conclude with a live set by Rayess Bek / Tarab Machine. Demain soir au Sahab Festival @gaitelyrique 🔥 Deux jours pour la scène artistique palestinienne contemporaine Le festival accueille deux performances portées par des artistes dont les pratiques interrogent le corps, la mémoire et les récits de déplacement. → Dans ‘Cosmos’, co-écrit et mis en scène par Clément Dazin, Ashtar Muallem explore sa quête de spiritualité à partir de souvenirs personnels. Danseuse contorsionniste et acrobate aérienne, elle propose à la fois un récit autobiographique et une forme à la croisée du cirque, de la danse et du théâtre. → Avec ‘Moment’, Mohanad Smama revient sur son expérience de Gaza avant l’exil. À partir du corps, d’objets et d’images d’archives, il compose une conférence-performance consacrée à la mémoire du mouvement et à la vie quotidienne en Palestine. ∿ Tomorrow evening at the Sahab Festival @gaitelyrique 🔥 Two days dedicated to the contemporary Palestinian arts scene The festival presents two performances by artists whose practices engage with the body, memory, and experiences of displacement. → In ‘Cosmos’, co-written and directed by Clément Dazin, Ashtar Muallem explores her search for spirituality through personal memories. A contortionist, dancer, and aerial performer, she combines autobiographical storytelling with a form that brings together circus, dance, and theatre. → With ‘Moment’, Mohanad Smama reflects on his experience in Gaza before exile. Le nouveau Sahab Museum est en ligne 🌀 Et dès demain au Sahab Festival @gaitelyrique Comment imaginer un musée à Gaza aujourd’hui ? Avec trois expositions conçues par MAAN for Gaza Artists, Dahaleez et Hawaf, le Sahab Museum propose un espace virtuel où œuvres, archives et récits palestiniens peuvent continuer à circuler malgré la destruction et l’isolement. Avec BARRA (Off-site), vous serez également invité·es à traverser les ruines du musée et à participer à sa reconstruction symbolique. Découvrez les différents espaces et les artistes présenté·es via sahabprojects.org. Cette semaine au Sahab Festival @gaitelyrique 🐅 Deux jours consacrés à la création palestinienne contemporaine Présentée pour la première fois au Palais de Tokyo en 2024, ‘A Place to Be’ est une installation imaginée par le collectif Hawaf qui vous plongera dans le récit d’une tigresse traversant Gaza, le ciel et le Sahab Museum. À la fois film immersif et expérience interactive, le projet invitera à découvrir les origines de ce musée virtuel et les imaginaires qui l’ont façonné. Une manière d’affirmer une idée simple : reconstruire un musée, c’est aussi reconstruire une communauté. ∿ This week at the Sahab Festival @gaitelyrique 🐅 Two days dedicated to contemporary Palestinian creation First presented at the Palais de Tokyo in 2024, ‘A Place to Be’ is an installation imagined by the Hawaf collective, following the journey of a tigress across Gaza, the sky, and the Sahab Museum. Ce vendredi au Sahab Festival @gaitelyrique 🎥 Deux jours consacrés à la création palestinienne contemporaine Le programme artistique des Chichas de la pensée présente une carte blanche en hommage à la diplomate palestinienne Leïla Shahid, disparue en février 2026. Mêlant lectures, arts visuels et projections, cette proposition réunira notamment Mohamed El Khatib, Bouchra Khalili et Rayan Yasmineh, ainsi qu’une performance de ABUL3EES. Cette rencontre intime et poétique sera suivie de l’avant-première du film ‘With Hasan in Gaza’ مع حسن في غزّة de Kamal Aljafari, dans l’auditorium de la Gaîté Lyrique.
