October 2nd, 2022. A date that will never be just a date for me. It’s the day my world changed forever. Four years have passed, but every October 2nd takes me back to those same trembling hands, the same helplessness, and the same eyes looking towards the sky, begging for a miracle that Allah would give my Baba one more chance. People say time makes grief easier, but somehow, every year I realize how much more I need you, Baba💔. I need my father to tell me I’m strong, that I’m a good daughter, and that I can handle whatever life puts in front of me. 🤍

When you were buried, I feel like I buried a part of myself with you. The carefree little girl, the emotional and outspoken girl, the one who could run to her father whenever life became too much. I grew up because I had to. I learned to face things alone, but somewhere inside me, that little girl is still there. Whenever something goes wrong, she still wants to run to her Baba, hug him, and say, “Baba, I’m going through a lot.” And I don’t think I’ll ever stop missing the comfort of knowing that you were there to fix things. 🥺🕊️

So today, I’m still here still trying, still fighting, still carrying you with me. I pray, make dua, do zikr, and hope every good thing I do reaches you somehow. I want to be your sadaqah jariyah and a daughter you would be proud of. If you still have your parents, please cherish them, hug them, call them, and tell them you love them. Don’t wait until all you have left are regrets. May Allah forgive my Baba, fill his grave with Noor, grant him Jannatul Firdaus, and reunite us someday where there are no goodbyes.
