I was purely shocked when I thought I was in Labor at and called my doula. After the first night of the contractions wearing off, she explained to me it sounded like I was experiencing Prodromal labor. I was like excuse me!? All of this laboring for no real progress? And my doctor confirmed I wasn’t even 1cm dilated. Lovely. So I started doing anything to get baby into good position, and still every night came and went with prodromal labor for 12 days. I took the birth class, and had a doula and was still shocked by this experience. I’m sure they taught me about it but my brain blocked it out thinking “that won’t happen to me”. It was such a mental game everyday and I only found relief by sitting on my yoga ball or being in the bath tub. Did anyone else it experience this!? Pregnancy appreciation post! Some of my favorite moments while pregnant with Banks. Pregnancy was a magical experience and I love to have had the honor to carry my son 🩵 I miss the bump sometimes 🥹 but not that heartburn 😵‍💫 my main symptoms were heartburn and back pain! My sweetest boy Banks is 7 months old now! Where has the time gone!? I feel like from month 6 to 7 there was such a huge leap! He’s sitting up, kneeling, crawling and has his first tooth! He loves trying new foods,and so far hummus from the amazing Turkish restaurant we went to this past weekend is his favorite. Watching him grow is truly the biggest joy! We’ve been taking swim lessons since month 4 and he’s already understanding how to use both his arms and legs to paddle around. He loves the water and the songs during class. I love seeing what a beautiful human he’s becoming. Happy Father’s Day to the man who chooses everyday to show up in the best way for our little family. I am so proud of you and all you do for us! I love watching you do everything with Banks as he grows. It’s been a joy witnessing you love me through motherhood. Parenting has given us a season in growth for us, and I’ve seen you love deeper, learn more about yourself and become a courageous man through this first season of Banks life! Let me introduce myself 👋 my name is Annika (pronounced on-ik-uh) and I am a first time mom to a 6 month old boy named Banks! I am 26 years old. I created this page to share motherhood moments and celebrate being a mom! I totally thought I return to my 9-5 after having a baby. I even attempted to return and a series of events led me to becoming a stay at home mom (my total dream just not in the way I thought it would happen. A story for another time!) I share happy mom moments while acknowledging it’s not all blissful moments like the one in this photo. I live on an island and share ocean and beachy baby content. I love to adventure with my little family! I really love to workout! I teach yoga and enjoy weight lifting. I try to move my body in someway everyday. I have the sweetest black lab named Malibu she’s 10 years young. I describe myself as scrunchy, I am conscious of chemicals and the food that I consume however I do enjoy a Diet Coke from time to time. This is why you’ll see me cooking a homemade meal for my family dinner every night! And of course, I follow Jesus and live with him in my heart. Am I perfect person? Far from it.
