I’m actually incredibly grateful that my grandpa passed away when he did. He found out he had cancer and began deteriorating quickly after, passing away almost a year after his diagnosis in 2017, at the end of my first semester of college.

He began communicating with me almost immediately after he passed, and we continue to communicate almost daily. He has powerfully and dramatically saved my life several times, has given me some of my biggest and most special blessings, and helped to guide my most important decisions. On the other side he’s able to understand me so much more deeply and support me so much more powerfully than he ever could’ve while living.

When someone close to us passes away, especially an older, prominent figure in our life, it’s almost always because we are about to begin an important transformation in our lives, and our loved ones are needed to guide us along those paths, whether or not we’re able to recognize the ways they’re supporting us.

Recognizing the signs that our guides give us for what they are— signs meant to guide our paths and gifts to help us move through our challenges— is the best way to receive more of them. Really often we brush off signs and blessings as flukes or we convince ourselves that we’re being naive to believe in them. Thinking that way is actually the most disrespectful thing we can do to our guides. It takes a lot of energy on their side to create signs for you to notice and blessings for you to receive. The best thing you can do when you notice them is to thank your guides for them— that’s also the surest way for you to receive more of them.

If you don’t acknowledge the signs and blessings your guides give you, they won’t waste their time and energy sending you more of them. The more that you acknowledge and give gratitude for your signs and blessings, the more that your guides will work to send you more of them. Clearer signs, bigger blessings. It’s all up to you and the way that you respond to receiving them. by @sahrapiet

baby loving yourself is not affirmations in the mirror or buying yourself a little treat. loving yourself is diving underneath your surface. sitting with the parts of yourself that you’re scared to look at. asking yourself who am I today and how did I become that? asking yourself is that who I want to be?

who do you want to be? what separates you from that person?

loving yourself is figuring out what you believe about yourself. your mind is a garden and if you’ve never stopped to think about /what you think about/ and why you think about it, then that garden is almost definitely covered with weeds. thoughts that tell you you’re not enough, you’re too much, you’re ugly, you should be ashamed, you should be quiet, you-you-you whatever. anything to make you feel terrible about yourself, and keep you feeding on those fear-based thoughts.

you are NOT your thoughts. you are your will. you are what decides which thoughts stay. you decide what lives in the home of your mind. you decide how you see every single thing around you. you decide what you remember about your past, and you decide what your past tells you about you. you decide your future because you decide who YOU ARE right now. and you decide what you allow around you.

This is heaven and this is hell, and they both exist in your mind. You decide which one you want to experience. That the secret. by @sahrapiet

It’s so funny to me that love is just truth. It’s just truth. To be fully honest with you about /you/, to share that full honesty with the world. To come face to face with all the fears you were taught about why it isn’t safe to be You, and to realize none of the fears have any actual real standing.

To truly consider our fears is to watch them crumble. When you take a second to consider why you’re so afraid of something, it doesn’t take long to realize the reasons behind the fears almost always don’t make sense or aren’t as big of a deal as you’d thought they were.

Our fears have such a hold on us for so long because we become so afraid of them that we won’t look at them at all, let alone consider why we have them. Look at them. Let them into the light. You’ll realize that the monsters in your closet were always just clothes.

On the other side of all of our fears is our truth, and our truth is always our full and honest expression. Our light. All of us are meant to share our light with the world, without exception. Your light is just your truth. Say all of it, whatever it is. Wear it, speak it, breathe it. Live it, and I swear you’ll never look back. There is nothing this free. by @sahrapiet

I held a baby today and all I could think of was what it would be to hold this baby if it had no head
I haven’t been able to shake the sickness
I haven’t been able to shake the feeling of it’s weight in my arms
With the image of the father
Holding his headless baby to a camera
Just to show you that it was real
I held that baby and thought of holding it’s headless body up to an iPhone camera
And I wanted to run away
Wanted to throw up
I gave that baby right back to it’s dad
Smiling dad
Laughing baby
Who don’t worry for a single day
That their homes will be bombed
Don’t worry for a single day
Of losing their heads
Losing their limbs
Losing their families
Losing their homes
For a Jewish state?
All this suffering for a Jewish state?
Holding a baby will never be the same for me again
I am forever changed
I wish you were forever changed
I wish it mattered to you that a father held up their headless baby

Just so that you could see
