POSTS STORIES REELS

When we began this project, little did we anticipate all the genuine love and community we would soon find through sailor munchies. To all our collaborators who invite and trust us to build the village together, wonderful friends and ambassadors that always show up, and everyone who we shared a bite with: a heart felt thank you!

Some highlights of this past year include our first dinner party (a mid autumn feast in collaboration with @slam.cube ), mastering the art of mooncakes, sailor munchies merch, our first market fair, first residency with @moledronyc , and so much more…. We have been able to donate more than $1000 of our proceeds in support of community organizations providing aid and resources to immigrant communities, families in Gaza, mutual aid, and so on.

Happy anniversary!! More to come in the fall, see you soon <3 by @sailormunchies

Come gather with us for the opening of Re-Orienting, a group exhibition by eight NYC-based AANHPI artists exploring present identity/generational memory, and celebrating the vast, complicated ways of existing as Asian American individuals. 🫶❤️‍🔥

This show is our loving offering to push against the increasing brandification of Asian diasporas - gently adding depth to ‘stinky lunchbox traumas’ while firmly rolling our eyes at ‘chinamaxxing.’ 😂😐☝️

Re-Orienting is an intimate space to honor and sit with the many stories of being an AANHPI, and recognize pieces of yourself while learning about entirely new ways of being. 🫀

All are welcome!! Whether you’re part of this community or just curious and open-hearted... come as you are. 🌸

Featuring work by:
Camila Lim-Hing, Gavin Li, Vickie J. Lin, Radhia Rahman, Helene K. Ryu, Siena Santos, Ameeya Singh, and Riya Gupta.
