Thorong La Pass (28.7934° N, 83.9387° E). 5416m altitude. ~13:30, 24 November 2025.

The cold bit through every layer. The wind felt like it was trying to send me back. The weather was good, but my breath was thin, and nothing about this height felt gentle.

Fourteen days of climbing, stumbling, pushing, breaking, rebuilding. And in one quiet moment at the top, it all made sense.

Some summits bruise you before they bless you. Some climbs take more from you than they give back. No easy bro. But this one stripped me down to whatever truth I had left, and then asked for more.

In the last few hundred meters, I wasn’t the fastest. I wasn’t the strongest. But I kept moving when every breath in me wanted to stop. And maybe that’s what the mountain was waiting for.

The real ascent was never the snow or the slope. It was the fight inside my own chest.

Bukit Panjang LRT has been using smart glass technology for many years. The windows automatically switch between transparent and opaque when the train passes close to residential blocks to protect residents’ privacy.

The technology appears to be PDLC (Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystal) Smart Glass. When electricity is applied, the liquid crystals align and the glass becomes transparent. When power is removed or changed, the glass turns opaque/frosted.

What triggers the change?
Assuming that it’s a location-based train control system. But also could be trackside sensors or just fixed trigger points.

Tal waterfall was something else. Reminded me of Bomburu Ella in Sri Lanka slightly but this was something else.

Lush green all around. Mountains standing still. The sound of the waterfall, a quiet stream cutting through the village, sheep moving slowly, a gompa watching over it all. Everything felt unhurried.

This is the kind of place that makes you want to come back and stay a few days, not to do anything, just to be there.

Nature and peace, blended perfectly.

Met this guy on Day 1 of the trek at Waterfall Bungalow in Tal.

The reel shows the highlights, but what stayed with me was everything beyond the frame. He cooked lunch for us, proper dhal bhaat, simple, honest food and one of Nepal’s staples. Then he took us around Tal waterfall, the nearby gompa, his farm, and the place where he trains.

What impressed me most was his discipline. Self trained, self built, right here on the trail. No fancy setup, just consistency. We did a bit of shadow boxing together. A man quietly building himself. I genuinely wish him the best in the sport.

On top of that, he showed me his coffee shop, still a work in progress. And honestly, it’s something special. The interior, lighting, layout, the surroundings, all planned and executed by him. They have even created a small pond using water flowing from the nearby waterfall. The place already feels alive.

He says it will be ready in about three months. If you are planning the Annapurna Circuit, make a stop here. Stay the night or at least come for lunch. Waterfall views, good food, and the kind of energy you do not fake.
