I love this kind of gathering—like a campfire crossed with yakitori night. You sit back, watch the fish slowly roast over charcoal, sip on good sake, and let the conversations flow. True slow food at its best. Nothing beats friends around the grill, laughter in the air… well, maybe except a killer omakase 😁.

Too lazy to list all the bottles, but let’s just say there were a couple of 1.8L treasures from Japan and some gems friends brought along. The standouts? Definitely natsu sakes and those crisp, dry karaguchi pours. 🍶✨

Long Beach sake day! One of the best sake event around LA. No shortage of great sake. Got the vip package and got to taste awesome top of the line sake ( some were hand carried in from Japan). So many great vendors !

I wish G man can do the event every month ! Sake car rules !

Kanpai!! With Sake Bubble! A reverse spherification trial.

What a cool drinking presentation for sake ! .

It didn’t work with regular Jumai sake. All the wonderful clean fragrant flavors got robbed. left in only the bit harsh alcoholic taste. Several reasons I could think of why.

But for more solid nigori , it’s wonderful! Kept a pretty chunk of the flavor and still carried through. And it’s prettier too!

What other sake would you think can work ? Genshu ? Or Shochu?

Yaki Ducky and Sake 🤣。 EP.2.

Sake : Aizu Otokoyama. KAI series. This one is with Yamada Nishiki . Brewed to Daiginjo level. Pasteurized once. It says “Medium Dry” DRY!! Tropical Fruit’. Ouuuu.. PERFECTOOO!

Medium DRY body to gel with the slightly chewy meat! Touch of tropical fruity mashes with the savory umami Tare then onto the Buttery Skin, and that all well rounded sweet meat of duck breast !

I don’t know man…. The Otokoyama dudes should start farming ducks . 🤣🤣。 buy one dozen sake and get a duck 🦆!

But in all seriousness. Tried two of their KAI 「回」sake. All medium bodies. It holds off the sometimes loud western meaty dishes with calmness and demure 😬. No spice girls or golden girls here but it’s like someone who understands. @

YOSHIDAYA Jisuke “The Black Series” 49%

Crisp, medium bodied. Apple finish.

But the key is the pairing with the “Crystal Bread Sushi”! Light, total crunchy, flavorless.

Oh man…. That Crystal bread took me 5 tries to barely get it half ass right …. Still a failed product. Get that thang and slap on some Yummi fish and drink up!

It’s a hard bottle to open ….. velvety label. Demure..

Almost tears me up to open this one up. Such a beautiful Koimari cup!! I should drink this much slower….

Koimari Nomanne (古伊万里 NOMANNE), a premium single-serve cup sake brewed by Koimari Shuzo (古伊万里酒造) in Saga Prefecture, Japan. Ceramic heaven !!

This one is decorated with traditional Japanese Edo-period textile and ceramic patterns.

Too bad , when the sake is gone, it’s not complete anymore. …. BUT! It was a koshu (2022) Jumai. Went well with my little Koji lamb chop 😬

Had a chance to try this Psycho, OPs! , Saiko SAKE spritzer or sparkling!

Surprisingly family likes it! Low alcohol level and bit sparky! With Yuzu and Mint and sake mix ! I thought the flavor is bit conflicting . BUT! It did well with BBQs harsh flame fired meat! I added a slice of lemon and it popped !! Need to be cooold. Drinks like a sake margarita !

Yap, it also went quite well with the tacos on our white people tacos night 🤣🤣🤣！ I was surprised. I’d get some and pair some more ! Give it a shot! Something different yet familiar.

Tried and got the booze from American Craft Sake FES. Thanks Saiko dude.!

Sake :
Houshuku Junmai( 豊祝純米酒 ) from Fushimi. Versatlie dry Kanpai sake . Sooo good with grilled dishes .

Okinashimohara (翁下原) by Daishinsyu Brewery (大信州酒造) in Matsumoto, Nagano Prefecture. High end aged 3 years . Crisp clean , bone dry. With slightly matured feel. This paired with fried fish with scales! Light sake with skin chips ! Love it .! #翁下原 @sakagura_daishinsyu

Wakaze x LINNE ! Traditional brewing with ultra modern craft technique with botanical infusion ! Tasted like sake /rose’ actually. Fun to taste the LINNE experimental products.

Kiyoin Junmai Ginjo (亀治心純米吟醸) 好日. from Kamenoi Shuzo (亀の井酒造) in Yamagata’. Wow. Exceptionally clean and dry +5 smv finish. Done with hard to grow Heirloom Kamenoo Rice . It goes with all dishes tonight ! I’d pick the octopus to pair though! More delicate sake to match the octopus presentation and texture.

American Craft Sake FES ! ( Los Angeles)

Wow! Blew my mind . So many great America borned Sake ! Got all types , even hand dropped ones (@novabrewingco), Edo style sake (@rice_vice_proper_bev ) ! Yuzu Minty Lenonade (@saikosake ) Even so, so many nigori sake, i guess Americans love the Nigori! Cost of American sake ? Quite affordable , most sake, and good ones at that, are in the range of $25-$40.

Caught up with so many good friends. , great event . For sure to return next year. (But it’s an hour drive from me.. so far..) Got me a good Nama t shirt too @izakayaimpressions . Nama style!

Bangkok Sake Party up! @pourdecisions.bkk

Decision wasn’t hard. Just pour ! No cocktail , sake up!! Bangkok SAKe people know how to party! Nama style!

Awesome sake selection! Many hard to find bottles and they have it here’! So weird but cool . Notable mention is the KazenoMori ambassador access bottle (). It has the same signature kazenomori taste but with elevated depth and finish!

Special thanks to @teru.th for the invitation. And great wish to @jiugui.sg on his next adventure . @gibgoy for having such a cool place. And to the best sake up companies! @curiouskanpai @mmmmmm128 @pommepun2pep @pondstar . did I miss anyone ? Thanks you all for the awesome night !
