Does it count as cheating, if I drew this a while ago? Probably not… right? :3

Day 1 of the meds heads challenge :3

Was trying to paint my Grace drawing and had the tragic realisation that i have forgotten… how to paint… again…hahah,,,ha ＿|￣|○

It’s like I either know how to draw or how to paint … never both at the same time. So gonna try to paint a head everyday till I feel better about myself as an artist :D

I should be doing rock things,,, :/ instead of trying to survive through each day. Aww man what have I been doing my whole life smh.

Does this look watercolour-y? 👀
Seen so many cool visdev artists use this very subtle watercolour effect for their art, and been wanting to recreate a similar texture since. Digital water colour is DA BomB 💅✨

➡️ Slide to the end for a process vid (well kinda)

A small 1.5 hr value and composition study. Original ref: A screen grab from Pather Panchali.

While watching Pather Panchali as a teen, I was so emotionally invested in the movie (Aam Aatir Bhepu had left me devasted, but guess I had more tears left in me), so enamoured by its beautiful simplicity. But what eluded my untrained artistic eye, was how meticulously each scene was composed in this film. It follows all the “rules” of composition, almost scientific in its approach, but the way it does it is so organically and simply that it’s nothing short of sorcery.

A very random drawing exploring shapes and colours. Wasn’t gonna post it, but I really like the way it turned out! So fun lol

Damn daniel back at it with the weird cat sketches again— Yes, yes I am. Also fellow artists with an aversion to putting your work out there, riddle me this: why? :”
