This past weekend was spent advancing our skills at a tissue grafting course hosted by @sigmagraft .

The program featured incredible lectures led by dental professors Dr. David Kim from Harvard, Dr Philip Kang from Columbia University, and Dr Wahn Khang from the University of Maryland, followed by hands-on training in grafting and sinus lift procedures.

The Takeaway: Not every extraction site requires a graft—dentistry is never one-size-fits-all. But when bone preservation or implant support is necessary, having these advanced techniques in our toolbox is absolutely vital.

Every course we attend has one ultimate goal: providing our community with the highest standard of care possible. We’re excited to bring these advanced techniques back to our office!

Special thanks to all that we’re involved in this course:

Alumni panel at Cerritos College! 🎓

It was an honor being invited to participate in the Cerritos College Health Occupations alumni panel. Sharing the stage with a pharmacist, dental hygiene professor and advocate, psychiatric therapist, and culinary arts professor to inspire the next generation of health professionals was a dream come true. This is where I spent many semester and studied dental assisting, earned an associates in dental science, and my BA in Management.

Special thanks to the Health Occupations Dean, Dr. Elizabeth Riley, and to Vanessa Salas and Desi Gonzalez for organizing such a great event. Nothing beats the opportunity to meet motivated students and help guide them on their journey. 🩺✨

Music created with AI by @j.esicaa 🎶 ❤️ we had fun with this one 😃

Health is wealth! 🎓✨

On April 11th and 12th, we were in Pasadena for the Comprehensive Dentistry with Invisalign course. It was a wonderful chance to step away from the office, master new smile design techniques, and network with like-minded dentists.

So lucky to have a team of Registered Dental Assistants that are committed to improving their skills too. We can’t wait to bring this fresh energy and expertise back to the practice for our patients!

They say seeing is believing 🦷✨

We started today’s session by showing our patient photos and x rays of exactly what was happening in his mouth. We identified recurrent decay under two old fillings and we replaced them quickly and easily before things got painful.

Beyond the decay, we addressed advanced wear on his upper front teeth caused by a combination of grinding and acid erosion. We placed tooth color composite on the edges of his teeth to add a layer of protection and prevent further erosion; keeping these teeth healthy for years to come.

6 fillings, 1 visit, and a very happy patient 😃

We only use high quality materials, in this case:

Ivoclar Adhese Universal Pen @ivoclar

Staying current isn’t optional—it’s our responsibility to our patients 🦷 💎

Dr. Salcedo and Dr. Santana, alongside our dedicated hygiene team, completed advanced laser training and certification through the Academy of Laser Dentistry, building on Dr. Salcedo’s laser certification from 2016.

What this means for our patients:
• More precise and comfortable gingival treatments
• Reduced bleeding and inflammation
• Faster healing and improved gum health
• Photobiomodulation therapy to help relieve TMJ discomfort, muscle tension and inflammation

Special thanks to our ALD inductor @laserfocusedhygiene 👏 👏 👏

Helloooo 36 😎
35 was such a memorable year — balancing work and life, cherishing close friends, and making new ones along the way. I was fortunate to be able to treat amazing individuals, friends, and family. Blessed to have traveled to Hawaii, the Philippines, Mexico, Vegas, and up and down California. Hoping that 36 brings more memories, adventures, and many reasons to smile 😀
