A milestone I never imagined when I started Salcombe Stories.

Over the past month, Salcombe Stories has reached more than 1,000,000 views across Instagram and Facebook. 🎉

What began as sharing photos and videos of a place I love has grown into a community of people who enjoy following life in Salcombe, whether they’re local, regular visitors or discovering the town for the very first time.

The part I’m most proud of isn’t the number itself.

It’s knowing that over a million views means Salcombe’s stories, businesses, beaches, events and incredible scenery are being seen by people all over the UK and beyond.

Thank you to everyone who follows, likes, comments, shares and supports the page. Every interaction helps more people discover this special corner of Devon.

And this is only the beginning.

Have you ever seen the East Portlemouth Ferry from this angle? 🚤💙👇

One of those unique perspectives of Salcombe that you don’t get to see every day!

Captured from above, the East Portlemouth Ferry cuts through the turquoise water as passengers make their way between the slipway and the town, with the waves creating the most incredible patterns around the wooden landing stage.

It’s such a familiar sight for anyone who knows Salcombe, but seeing it from directly overhead gives this everyday journey a completely different look. 🌊☀️

The ferry is also one of the easiest ways to reach the beautiful beaches of East Portlemouth, including Mill Bay and Sunny Cove, without needing to take the long way around.

Sunny Cove looking absolutely unreal on a gorgeous summer’s day, with golden sand, crystal-clear water and people making the most of this little slice of paradise.

Tucked away on the East Portlemouth side of the estuary, it’s one of those places that reminds you why Salcombe is so special. And when the sun shines like this, it’s hard to imagine being anywhere better! 🌊😍

Have you tried this Chocolate Hazelnut Croissant from The Bake House? 🍫🥐👇

This is one seriously special pastry! It’s really quite weighty, loaded with syrup, chocolate and hazelnuts, and every bit as tasty as it looks. 🤤

I was very lucky to get the last one they had, and after trying it I can completely understand why they always sell out!

If you’re looking for an extra special treat while you’re in Salcombe, I’d definitely recommend keeping an eye out for these. Just make sure you get there early! 👀

Did you make it to The Victoria Inn for Black Friday? 🎸🔥👇

Day Two of Salcombe Live was another brilliant one! After checking out a few performers and enjoying drinks at a few different venues, we found ourselves at The Victoria Inn with Black Friday.

What a night! They had the whole place jumping and were absolutely fantastic. 🔥🎶

In fact, I only managed to get this one clip because we were having far too much fun to spend the night filming! 😂

So far, Salcombe Live is proving to be a huge success, bringing the town to life with brilliant music, packed venues and an amazing atmosphere.

And there’s still more to come today to close out the weekend! 🎶💙

What a way to kick off Salcombe Live! 🎶💙
@salcombelive

Day One was absolutely brilliant, with live music taking us all over town.

We started with The Footloose Band at Devon Rum, headed over to The Kings Arms for The Hitchikers, and finished the night at The Ferry Inn with The Beatles Dub Club. 🎸🍹🎶

Three completely different venues, three fantastic acts and one brilliant atmosphere right across Salcombe.

And it’s not just about the music. Salcombe Live is a community festival that brings the town together while raising money for the RNLI and Cliff House Friends. 💙

The festival is free to attend and relies on donations to keep bringing live music and entertainment to Salcombe. If you’d like to support it, you can make a donation through the official Salcombe Live website. Every bit helps keep this brilliant weekend going. 🙌

And this is only Day One! There’s plenty more music and entertainment across Salcombe this weekend.

How beautiful does Salcombe look from above on an autumn morning? 🍂💙👇

A little mist hanging over the estuary creates such a peaceful atmosphere, with Salcombe stretching out below and the coastline disappearing into the distance.

Look closely and you can still make out the Salcombe RNLI lifeboat out on the water. 🚨🌊

There’s something pretty special about seeing Salcombe from this perspective, with the town, estuary and open sea all in one view.

What a month September has been in Salcombe!
