The Salem Night Faire is Salem’s most distinctive October market. Presented by The Black Veil (@blackveiltattoo), the annual faire unfolds in the haunting setting of Salem’s Pioneer Village, featured in the opening scene of the cult classic Hocus Pocus.
Venture beyond the darkened pines for an enchanting outdoor evening of magick and wonder—and a glimpse beyond the veil.
Salem Arcanum joins more than 65 artists and vendors offering clothing, jewelry, oddities, and more. Enjoy live performances, fireside ghost stories, photo opportunities, hot cider, food trucks, and a Biergarten featuring @eastregimentbeerco and @farfromthetreecider.
Reach toward the silent fortune teller and receive your fruitless fortune. Lose yourself in the spellbinding atmosphere—the hour awaits, and magick fills the Salem October night.

The Night Faire is also open Friday–Saturday, October 23–24 • 5–10 PM (without Salem Arcanum).

Please join me on Sunday, September 27, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM for an afternoon of art, conversation, and discovery.

You are cordially invited to the opening reception for Infra-Structure, my new solo exhibition of infrared photography at the Marblehead Arts Association in the historic King Hooper Mansion. This new body of work explores the hidden light within familiar places featuring historic landscapes, architecture, and coastal sites in Salem, Marblehead, and beyond transformed into luminous black-and-white images that feel suspended between memory, history, and imagination.

Infrared photography records light just beyond the range of ordinary human sight, revealing a spectrum that is normally invisible to human sight. Using digital infrared technology, familiar scenes take on unexpected qualities: leaves and grasses glow with pale radiance, skies become deep and dramatic, and stone, wood, and water gain a heightened sense of texture and presence. The result is not simply a document of place, but a way of seeing the familiar world become more surreal.

Infra-Structure will be on view from September 26 through October 31, 2026, with an Artist Discussion and Closing Party on Sunday, October 25, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM.

The MAGIC in Portugal continues with a Second exhibit of “Arcanum” by James Bostick. The new exhibit is on display at Magia dos Sabores (Magic of Flavor), a confectionary and coffeehouse located in a commercial gallery space, and known for its photography exhibits and relationship with Portuguese institutions including The iNstantes International Photography Festival.

The new exhibit will be on display through June 2026 by @salemarcanum

I’m proud to announce that my Arcanum project will be exhibited in Portugal this May as part of the 13th edition of the iNstantes Festival Internacional de Fotografia de Avintes. I’ve been invited to showcase 20 selections from the Arcanum series in my own show at this highly regarded international photography festival. My work will be featured alongside 49 photographers from 12 countries, spanning 23 exhibitions and 10 venues across Avintes, Valadares, Lourosa, Vila do Conde, and Braga. It’s an honor to share my work alongside such talented photographers, and I look forward to connecting with new audiences and fellow artists during the festival.

The iNstantes International Photography Festival of Avintes was founded in 2014 by photographer Pereira Lopes and has since become one of Portugal’s most important cultural events, bringing together artists from around the world to celebrate artistic, conceptual, and fine art photography.

Thank you to Pereira Lopes, Director of the Centro de Fotografia INstantes, and Larry Dunn, Festival North American Ambassador, for inviting me to participate in this international event.
