It’s officially spooky season! 👻 I’m a bat & witchy! 🦇🎃 what are you going to be?!

This is especially my time of the year & one where it’s important for me to educate you all on how safe, wonderful, loving, and good black cats are. 🖤 Everyone in the Western world likes to think of us as bad luck, with sub populations of the community even regarding us as evil and unworthy of a home. 💔 But that is far from the truth!

I, along with other black cats, provide so much love & beautiful spirit to those I/we love so deeply. Some even say we have the same loyalty & protection (if not, more 😉) of a dog.

So, I ask all of you to not believe in the misconceptions & myths about me and my fellow black cats. Please open your hearts to loving us because we are so loving & deserving of the same affections we put out. 🖤

Hi everyone! It’s me, Salem. 😸 While my mom was in Europe a month back, I stayed back at my grandparent’s house in Texas. However, I missed my mama so much 😿 after what felt like forever, she is now back! I’ve been cuddling with her, bringing her toys, and kneading her ever since! I know my mama loves me so much and I love her. It may have felt like a long time but I know I’ll be with her - no matter where either of us are at, together or far, - for an eternity. 🖤 by @saleywaley

It’s October! Which means it’s Salem’s and other black cats around the world’s month. 🐈‍⬛🎃 This month and the holiday that finishes it off is a time of fun, dressing up, and sharing spooky stories!

But one story that is often shared in Western Cultures is that black cats are omens and bad luck. It is especially takes form around Halloween. This is far from the truth! Black cats are cuddly, loving, loyal and protective. They’re truly like dogs but in cat (and cuter, in my opinion 🤭) form.

During this month and every other month in the year, be mindful of how you regard, treat and speak of black cats. Harmful rhetoric adds to the lack of their adoption in adoption shelters and creates this stigma around them.

Hi everyone! It’s been a while. 😸

Just wanted to update you on what’s been going on in my little cat life. Mom has been leaving a lot on travel and I’ve been staying with dad. I’ve had a lot of bonding time with dad but miss my mom so much.

Every time she returns, I become a kitten again and start acting clingy! I love cuddling and sleeping with my parents! Especially when my mom is home. 🥰
