Some good news to share! Last year, Chester, a short film I directed, screened at the ATX short film showcase and won the audience favorite award, which automatically enters it into the best of the year showcase. On August 25th, Chester will screen FOR THE VERY LAST TIME. On top of being nominated in the best of the year category, we are also up for best fantasy/sci-fi, special effects and screenplay categories. Come hang out and watch 12 award winning shorts and enjoy the squirrel man on his final hurrah. by @salfrico

We got the Durham Arts Council grant so we are moving forward with my next short film. Welcome @tamm.ann21 for joining the cast of "It's Your Funeral' written, directed, and produced by Debbie Vu and lensed by @salfrico Watson-Grant. We will be shooting on May 2nd in Carrboro. CASTING UPDATE for one of my next films, "It's Your Funeral"! Inspired by my therapist, this film has been and will always be a cathartic experience. Art is so powerful because it's a safe space to process our feelings and express ourselves when reality just isn't good enough.Logline: A cousin confronts her abuser's corpse. Synopsis: For Cece, family has not been the safe refuge that others may be blessed to experience. She carries deep dark secrets that are about to be buried six feet under. It’s time to say goodbye… in her own way.I'm excited to announce the cast! @ohmgitseden will be CECE and @josh_ray__perry will be CORPSE. Both creatives are incredible to work with. We have collaborated several times already and we are not slowing down! - well... maybe we will so y'all can jump on board!IWM Executive Assistant @iniayomide and I have been working hard on some grant applications so we probably won't film this until after April 2025. We are looking at you @uptiltfilmfest and @durham_arts!I'm looking to cast an actress (40-60 Y/O) to play CECE's aunt/CORPSE's mother. DM if you're interested or know someone.Also, we need a location, preferably a church or event space that's willing to volunteer their space.
