APPRECIATION POST

Wow. Working on DON’T DIE with my friends has been an absolute dream come true.
This was my first time directing and producing a show that I wrote and it truly could not have happened without the help of so many incredible people.

Huge shout-out to @brandon12hendricks for the technical direction, and to @xobjornxo and @line.jason for absolutely killing it as Tim and Hank and bringing this thing to life.

And a massive thank-you to the @lumoratheatre for letting us experiment and create our first original one-act play within those sacred walls. It means more to me than I can really put into words.
I can’t thank everyone enough. Thanks for believing in us Heath!

Honestly, this was a very vulnerable thing for me to do. I was genuinely worried that the show might not make sense at all. So the fact that it did make sense—and that people actually thought it was pretty good—is a huge, huge blessing.

The muses really did come out for this one. I’m sure some of you saw that in Bjorn’s post about the show, but it’s just so true. There was something really special about the way everything came together.

Thank you to everyone who came. Thank you to everyone who donated props, set pieces, time, energy, and love. Thank you to everyone who believed in this weird little thing we made.

I love you all.
Here’s to the future of making original theater. ❤️ taken in Tacoma, Washington by @sallyimprov

last pic by @nathanfoxellis from the post encore-show talk-back 📸🎞️✨🙏🏻😍

Thank you to all who came out to see our one act play! It means a lot to us 🥹 For those of you that don’t know, it was our first scripted production, and our first original production at @lumoratheatre 😲

It was an incredible pleasure to be a part of this piece of art. Sal truly tapped into the muses for this one. Then he committed his energy to it. So we all did. Because of that, it became pure magic 🪄✨Everything fell right into place throughout the process, all the way down to butts in seats. Thank you butts. Thank you seats. Thank you music. Thank you Heath. Thank you Tacoma. 🙏🏻

We filmed it so those of you that missed it will have a chance to witness it (although in a less magical way in my opinion). Anyways, loved this project. So gratifying. It was also cool to be nudged into thinking about my mortality through this. We all gon die! Friendship is important. Focus on the strange & nuanced & blatant goodness about life, and send it with love. We get to do this! “Don’t die! Live!” - encouraging words from Hank R.I.P. ❤️‍🔥
