Sally’s Fund is deeply grateful to the Samueli Foundation for a $50,000 Breakaway Grant that will help us to continue our work providing seniors and disabled individuals with not only transportation but other human-centered services. The vision and generosity of Susan and Henry Samueli, Orange County philanthropists and engineers, help improve the lives of everyday residents through grants like this. The Samueli Foundation supports “catalytic community forces whose innovations yield a higher quality of life and a more sustainable future for everyone.” 🙏 by @sallysfundinc

With sadness, we mark the sudden passing of our friend and client Helga Matano. Helga was a familiar face at the Susi Q and a regular attendee of Sally’s Fund’s bimonthly lunch outings. She became a close friend of our driver Julie and will be missed by a great many other friends.

Oringinally from Germany, Helga was a style maven and avid weekly Susi Q bingo player. She leaves us with many fond memories of a lovely, dignified member of our Sally’s Fund family.

Again this year, Sally’s Fund will spearhead the delivery of information and goodies to seniors and disabled persons who live at two of Laguna‘s affordable housing sites as part of Love Laguna Beach on October 4! We so appreciate the help of Laguna‘s Village Girl Scout Troop 7554 and the Patience Wright Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Assisted, escorted door-to-door transportation service within 30 miles of Laguna Beach is available to any Laguna resident age 60 or older, and disabled individuals of any age. Spread the word!
