I make whimsical paintings of ordinary things. The work celebrates the treasures that I keep and embraces the joy of the familiar.

We all want that amazing space with bifold doors, views, and a scruffy settee to sit on and admire the huge paintings that are energetically painted. But the reality for lots of us is a table in a kitchen or in my case a son’s bedroom now he’s moved out. But I’m still so grateful for having time to paint and this little space.
Check out the portrait of me that my grandma did. Don’t think my mum thought much of it. 😂 something about the teeth.

We had such a blast playing yesterday evening. Working in the fab @crypt_gallery. Big thanks to Josie for making endless cups of tea. Changing water pots, cutting paper, topping up paint and providing the tunes…and adding her beautiful poison bottles to the mix. But a major thank you to everyone who came to the workshop. You were so lovely and brilliant. Let’s do another soon!
Watch this space.

Looking forward to running a workshop this evening. There’s one space left I believe, so still time to book on if you would like to do a bit of painting, bit of drawing, eat a few biscuits, have a nice chat. All abilities. Link in bio. The workshop is being held at the @crypt_gallery in Seaford.

Bit of a rubbish photo. Need to sort something out here. But just continuing to experiment and work into some old paintings, following the success of a great sale at the weekend. Plus I like where it’s heading. (Hopefully someones wall) by @sallysmithart

Cute. Prop them on a shelf, hang them on a cute little gap on your cute wall. #littlepaintings #domestic #affordable by @sallysmithart
