Today I turn 27.

Time really does move fast. One day it feels like everything is ahead of you, and the next you realize you’ve already lived a quarter of your life.

And before anything else, I just want to say:
I’m proud of myself.

Proud of surviving the year I thought would break me.
Proud of becoming this version of myself without losing who I am in the process. Proud that after everything, I still have softness in me. Still ambition. Still hopeful.

This past year changed me deeply.It exhausted me mentally, emotionally, and spiritually in ways I can’t fully explain. And I’m still healing from parts of it.
But at the same time, it taught me things I don’t think comfort could’ve ever taught me.I learned that not everything meaningful is meant to last forever, and not every ending means failure.

Some people enter your life to stay.
Others arrive to teach you something, shift you, or reveal parts of yourself you would’ve never discovered otherwise.

I also learned that I should stay truthful to who I am.

It means showing up as you are, even when it’s misunderstood.It means not performing a version of yourself just to be accepted. It means not abandoning your own truth just to fit into someone else’s comfort.

Because the real danger isn’t being “too much” for the wrong people…
It’s becoming less of yourself just to be easier to accept.

I learned that not everyone will understand the depth of what you carry inside you.
Not everyone will meet you with the same honesty, effort, or intention you give.
And that’s something you slowly learn to accept, not change yourself for.

This year also taught me that real change takes more than motivation.
It takes discipline.
Consistency.
And the courage to rebuild yourself even when it feels uncomfortable.

I became softer in some places, stronger in others, and far more aware of what I can and can’t tolerate anymore.

I still don’t have everything figured out.

Still healing.Still learning. Still growing

But one thing I know for sure:
I’m not the same person I was a year ago.
And maybe that alone is something worth being grateful for..

Still ambitious.Still grateful.Still becoming.

I miss the sea.
Where the waves would gently carry my worries away.
Where I could finally be present.
At peace. At ease. Me.

I miss traveling.
Not for luxury. Not for pictures.
But because it’s how I survive.

Traveling, for me, isn’t a break; it’s a reset.
It’s how I find clarity, how I stay sane in a world that never stops spinning.

City life wears me down.
The endless noise, the concrete, the rush, the pressure.. it’s just too much.
It clutters my thoughts. Drains my energy.
Everyone’s in a hurry, and everything feels… fake.

That’s the thing.
When I escape to nature; real, untouched nature — everything feels real.
Because nature hasn’t been shaped by us.
It hasn’t been filtered, branded, or bought.

It isn’t fake, because it hasn’t been touched by human hands.
And let’s be honest, we humans tend to ruin everything.
We build over beauty.
We replace peace with profit.
We forget how to just be.

That’s why traveling; to the quiet, to the natural, to the raw — is essential for me.
It’s how I reconnect with life.
How I hear my own thoughts again.
How I reflect — on where I’ve been, and where I’m going.

Even the Prophet Muhammad (Pbuh) sought solitude in nature.
He’d retreat to Ghar Hira’, sit in stillness, and reflect deeply.
And it was there — in silence, in simplicity — that revelation first reached him.

So yeah…
I miss the sea.
I miss waking up in unfamiliar places that somehow felt more like home.
I miss traveling freely, without asking for time off or counting annual leaves.

I miss nature.
I miss the version of me who knew how to pause.
And I miss the peace that only simplicity can bring.
