Do a little, change a lot!

Here is what we can do:
-Next time you are on the beach with friends you can clean the area around you.
-Don’t toss your cigarette butts instead try to collect it in an empty cup or a snack box till you pass by a nearest bin.
-Say No to straws and plastic utensils instead buy wooden ones or bring stainless steel ones from home and leave them in your bag.
-Go to the grocery shop with your tote bag even if you don’t have enough of them it will still help you consume less plastic bags.
-If you are taking the rest of your food takeaway, try to take the package only without a plastic bag.

Share your simple tips and tricks in the comments!

POV: you successfully identify Chicken of the Woods, cook it, serve it to your friends… and then the saxophone starts getting louder 🎷🍄💀

Lessons were learned that evening 😂👇🏼

🍄 Edible doesn’t mean everyone’s stomach agrees with it. Chicken of the Woods can cause vomiting or diarrhea only to some people, especially when trying it for the first time. So start SMALL, cook it thoroughly, and see how your body reacts before having more.

We, however, chose a different scientific method: “OMG IT ACTUALLY TASTES LIKE CHICKEN” → eat a mountain of it → apparently my friends decided to demonstrate the possible side effects for educational purposes. 😭🎷

🍄 And DON’T eat it raw. Yes, I tried a little raw. Yes, nothing happened to me. No, this is absolutely NOT me recommending you do the same. 😂 Cook it properly.

🍄 Know your mushroom AND know what it’s growing on. Identifying the host tree is part of responsible foraging too — not just identifying the mushroom.

🍄 Young & tender is the way to go. The soft outer edges are the best part. The big, thick, older sections get tough and honestly aren’t worth fighting for. My personal lesson: if I find a giant old shelf again, she can stay right there looking beautiful. 😂

Moral of the story: identifying an edible mushroom is only step one. Knowing how to prepare it — and discovering whether your stomach actually wants it — is step two. 🍄🎷

Please don’t eat wild mushrooms based on an Instagram post. Proper identification and knowledge come first.

“Lagom”might be one of my favorite Swedish words 🙌🏼

I love this concept in foraging too, enjoy some of what you find, but leave some of nature’s gifts for others too💚🫐
