Time to check my wheels: once the bearingsare cleaned, regreased, and dialled in, up they go in the @parktoolblue stand to make sure they are round, true, and evenly tensioned. After that, some fresh rubber from @veloflex.it and we are good to go!

#refreshingmybarco Part 2:
I love my Shimano pedals. They are superbly well made, completely rebuildable and user mantainable, they provide a solid connection to the bike and the right amount of float. I have been using them exclusively since 2007, and this particular pair of 105s has been with me since 2016.
In the past I just cleaned them and repacked them with fresh grease, but this time they had developed some play, so I opened the bearing assembly, cleaned and checked everything, and reset the preload before closing them again.
Now they are again ready for many years of riding!

#refreshingmybarco Part 1:
I am usually quite good at keeping my bikes clean and running well, but among the most trivial consequences of the uncertainty in the past months was my getting quite careless with maintenance. Well, last week the road bike let me know in no uncertain terms that this could not go on, so I buckled up and took care of things. There she is, in bits and pieces, looking dirty and forlorn...
