LALO SCHIFRIN Legendary Composer, Pianist, Conductor , passed away today, at the age of 93, in Beverly Hills. A native of Buenos Aires, Argentina, Schifrin’s Compositions influenced an entire generation of Music & Musicians.

Lalo was a pillar of my Music, and my Life.

I Won an Audition to be his Principal Flutist in the Debut Orchestra, and the Glendale Symphony, an Orchestra comprised primarily of Movie Studio Musicians. I had the Extraordinary Honor and Privilege of playing Principal Flute w/Schifrin, on everything from Ravel Daphnis & Chloe, Saint Saens Carnival of the Animals (Audrey Hepburn, Narrating) w/members of the LA Philharmonic, and Solo Flute on “Mission Impossible” with Lalo himself, on Solo Piano, along with The Glendale Symphony, to an Audience of 3,000.

I also had the rare opportunity to perform on Lalo’s “Jazz Meets the Symphony” with Lalo on Solo Piano, Grady Tate on Drums, and Ray Brown, on Bass.

Having Composed the Arrangements,
Lalo created the entire compositional genre of “The Three Tenors” And, as a result, I had the pleasure of Touring one year, with Luciano Pavarotti, and the Three Tenors.

Lalo also invited me to play on his Movie Soundtracks of “Rush Hour 2” and “Rush Hour 3”, as well as his video game Score “Splinter Cell”.

Thank You Lalo, for Blessing my Life, and the world, with so much Beauty, Joy, Positive Energy, & Inspiration! I’ll miss you Forever! But, I know
Your Music Lives Forever!
